Re: Toybox feedback & discussion thread (SPOILERS)

Firstly, I thoroughly enjoyed the ToyBox. Can't find the last button (unless it's the particle room, in which case, neat), but that seems par for the course. On the whole, I found it really enjoyable. That said, I do agree with some of the criticism. Namely, the cameras on the see-saws were a nightm...

Re: Transformations

I wonder if there's going to be another gag form like the washing machine in BK. What about a fridge? Only if after Yooka is turned into a fridge, the door swings open, Laylee pops out in a brown Indiana Jones Fedora, then slips back in, closing the door behind them, before Yooka turns transforms i...

Re: MIDI-Music-Option?

Of course, but I find it a nice & easy gimmick to use as a stretch goal. I just love that low-fi, dirty sounding brass section in the Banjo games, for example. Gives it a much more dirtier and trashier sound, which quite fits the humor of these games. Here, I found the 64 bit version of the jun...

Re: Transformations

So the Kickstarter didn't mention one way or another, do you want transformations on every world? If they have them on every world, you run the risk of having some arbitrary "use this transformation to go under an overhang and hit a switch, then never touch it again" ones, but if you don'...

Re: MIDI-Music-Option?

It has to do with the compression and stuff. Frankly, you could probably very easily just compress the musical pieces into the dirt and have a very N64 sound, so getting the sound isn't the hard part necessarily (unless you were to redo them). Even so, I'd rather hear Grant and Wise's tunes at their...

Re: Transformations

My issue with nuts and bolts was the gameplay. When I am playing a game, I want to play the game, I don't want to constantly fight the physics engine. I think it would have been a much better game, without the simulation physics engine they used in it. Especially, since it was trying to encourage y...

Re: Transformations

and I'm part of the small demographic that genuinely loved and played the heck out of Nuts & Bolts It's not as small as the stubborn fanboys that hate it. Every so often you run into someone that thinks something like "it has Banjo but doesn't play like it, so I hate it" or "it's...

Re: Transformations

I would totally like the guy to transform you into stuff to be a Dragon. Why a Dragon? In a lot of lore, Dragons can shape shift to different degrees. From assuming the shape of a seamless rock to become an elemental. It would be rather unique to not only have a Dragon as a 'good guy', seeing as we...

Re: The World Ideas

I appreciate the heck out of these ideas, but I know there's already another massive thread geared towards generating level ideas and discussion. Pretty sure you can find the link in the "List o' Ideas" thread. I must've skimmed over it. Whoops :( I don't think it's a big deal, no worries...

I'm sure they care A LITTLE bit about the money. Cost of living and all that. ;)

Re: Transformations

We need a Humba Wumba and Mumbo Jumbo equivalent. Give us a spooky skeleton wizard and a cute witch or something! O: Skeletal wizard sounds pretty radical, I'm not going to lie. While it's definitely similar to Mumbo in a lot of ways, I like the idea of him casting his spells and his head (skull?) ...

Re: Have people forgotten Playtonic are not idiots?

When a project gets buzz because it's explicitly stated to be a spiritual Banjo sequel, I think it's only natural for a few of those to exist. -Art style. Yes, it's only 3 months, but the art and first world show a clear art direction that deviates from the Banjo games. It can be tweaked, but we de...

Re: Have people forgotten Playtonic are not idiots?

I agree, the Twitter is genuinely upsetting. It's just gross to watch people turn their backs on the people who have brought them so many good things in the past and want to do the same again by pouring their heart into it. While I'm sure it got lost in the flurry I did try to send Grant some reassu...

Re: Transformations

I really hope they handle transformations more like in BT than BK- most of the BK transformations felt like downgrades for the most part, especially the pumpkin. This. I want transormations to feel just as strong (with obvious ups and downs) as the titular characters and not just be niche modes to ...

Really glad to see something on the forum that's more thankful than nitpicking focused (not that the forum isn't a good outlet for that sort of thing, it's just a nice change of tone), so thank you for that OP. I think my favorite thing so far has been the music as a whole. Don't get me wrong, I ado...

Mission already accomplished then, considering a game is better than no game, am I right? ;)
