Re: Yooka-Laylee Collector’s Boxie

I really like the design of the statue. It's vibrant and depicts the characters really well. The cards don't really interest me but the key chain and pins are a nice bonus. I'm seriously considering buying one...

Re: Funding the Next Game

I would donate again. That being said, I hope they have made enough profit from Yooka Laylee that they don't need to kickstart their next game.

Re: Cancelled?

The Switch version is still being worked on. Just yesterday they posted this image of it on their Twitter. https://twitter.com/PlaytonicGames/stat ... 3694291969 (Spoiler warning: The level displayed on the Switch screen in the image is from a later part of the game.)

Re: Update Impressions!

Overall it is a very nice update with a great amount of bug fixes. However I just took a look at Gloomy Gem Grotto to see the changes for myself, and unfortunately the changes there do seem to have gone too far. There's just no challenge to that section at all after the update. Except for the couple...

Re: What I love about Yooka Laylee

I agree, Gloomy Gem Grotto was very difficult for me, but I appreciated the challenge. That section really felt reminiscent of some of the most challenging platforming sections in old N64 platformers.

Playtonic haven't yet said either way.

Playtonic confirmed over Twitter today that the fix should work retroactively for those that already encountered the bug.

Re: 64-bit Tonic?

The in game commentary sounds awesome, but I'll wager it'll probably be just video. I don't know what kind of work would be needed for in game commentary. Like would it be a notification that pops up when you go somewhere and you press a button to hear it? Or watch it? Or just a new game mode when ...

Re: What I love about Yooka Laylee

Overall I think it's a really enjoyable game. In addition to your list, here are 3 more things that stood out to me as particularly enjoyable moments that made me actually laugh out loud. They all have to do with the pagies. -The Crazy Kirkhope pagie -The pagie in a cagie in Tribalstack Tropics that...

Re: 64-bit Tonic?

As for the other goodies in addition to 64-bit Tonic, does anyone know how they are going to work? Is the orchestral soundtrack going to replace what we have now automatically? How is the commentary stuff going to work out? My guess would be that the orchestral soundtrack would be something you cou...

Re: Pacifist run.

An interesting question...

It sounds like a cool challenge that they should create an achievement for or something. Regardless, I'll have to try this out in a future play through.

Re: 64-bit tonic??

Will this be Backer-exclusive, or available for EVERYONE, With the Only catch being Non-Backers have to pay for it?! The 64-bit tonic will be added in by patch. It won't be something you have to pay for and it won't be backer exclusive. The DLC that backers get for free is going to be something else.

Re: Ideas for Yooka-Laylee DLC

A new area or world to explore would definitely be my first choice for DLC. I know this is crazy and wishful thinking, but if they don't want to make an entire new 3D level to add into the game somewhere, then what if they made a DLC where Yooka and Laylee find a new kind of 'arcade' game, but not l...

Re: will backers get the game slightly early?

Just received mine in the mail today. I live in Illinois. It's awesome! Big thank you to Playtonic! :D That's good to hear. I'm in Illinois as well, and my package is in WI currently. I'll probably receive it sometime this week. It's interesting how many different routes these things seem to take. ...

The 64-bit tonic, along with the orchestral soundtrack and developer commentary, will be added to the game via a patch sometime in the future.

Re: Unbelievable flaw

You know, I wouldn't mind if a future game pokes fun at old arcades being too hard and merciless for today's standards by having Rextro remaking the games into being stupidly easy and impossible to lose. Maybe the challange ends up being to manage to lose and win as little extra lives as possible. ...

Re: will backers get the game slightly early?

I'm in the same boat as you guys, mine still says "ready to ship". Considering I live in Australia I don't suppose I will be getting my copy for another couple of weeks at the earliest. It's incredibly disappointing to have backed the game almost two years ago and feel like an afterthough...

Re: will backers get the game slightly early?

A friend of mine who is currently in Texas just received their physical copy. So hopefully it won't be much longer now. Also, I've just checked my backer kit today and it now says "Shipped" and "Rewards are shipped" under Status. Scrolling the cursor over the "Rewards are sh...

Re: Is there an official method of sending Playtonic a crash report?

Ah yes, that's the same error message it gave me. I don't believe it closed for me either.

EDIT: I've just read the new forum notice on how to report bugs, and have submitted the crash logs to the appropriate email address.

Is there an official method of sending Playtonic a crash report?

I'm thoroughly enjoying the game so far, but while I was playing around with the display resolution settings I managed to do something that caused the game to crash when I quit. An error popup window appeared stating this, and indicated that a crash log had been created and that I should let the dev...
