Re: Developer Commentary videos!

How far into this levels development and the games development in general was Shovel Knight added into this level? Did the mission you do for Shovel Knight in this level already exist in some form before he was added in, or was it all added in after he was?

Re: Physical Yooka-Laylee Switch at "Best Buy"

Well this all seems perfectly reasonable to me. An extra chance for people to get a copy, I say. Very thoughtful of them to go out of their way to explain everything in such lengthy detail. It is, however, terrible to hear they're getting threats of violence over this. That's just completely insane....

Re: Yooka-Laylee: 64-Bit Tonic coming soon!

Ah, very good. The Glitterglaze Glacier footage from the trailer definitely reminds me of old N64 style graphics. I wonder if Playtonic would consider allowing the cosmetic tonics to be enabled at the same time as 1 non-cosmetic tonic. It would be fun to try a playthrough with the 64 bit tonic AND t...

Re: Spin-off graphic novel revealed!

It's also why I was infuriated by the Triforce statue mess earlier this year that can only have dampened Yooka fans willingness to trust other companies like mine. [...] you have every right not to trust other companies after Triforce stole folks preorder money earlier this year... including mine!)...

Re: Spin-off graphic novel revealed!

Given the apparent size of the world from the image on the Kickstarter, I'd be surprised if it was added as DLC. It looks big enough to be an entire expansion if that was the case. It would probably be more realistic for it to be used in a sequel. I wouldn't mind either case, though. ;) The graphic ...

Re: Yooka-Laylee on Switch through Limited Run Gammes

Just in case anyone missed the update on Kickstarter today, the 10% discount code for backers has been reactivated and will be valid through the evening of Sunday September 30th.

Re: How many Kickstarter milestones are there left for Playtonic Games to complete?

In addition to the initial list of languages mentioned, Yooka Laylee had translations added for Korean, Chinese, and Japanese starting back in December 2017.

Looks like more than 10,000 pre-orders have been made so far, that's kinda awesome.

Re: Yooka-Laylee on Switch through Limited Run Gammes

Really? I didn't even try because they said it was for the standard version (and I didn't want to waste precious seconds). I had thought so too until right before it went on sale. I think I saw a statement about it on twitter at the last minute, and decided to try it. I had the code copied ...

Re: Yooka-Laylee on Switch through Limited Run Gammes

I'd have settled for the standard version if I had to, but I'm happy to say I was able to snag a copy of the Classic Edition! Glad the discount code worked for that one, too. It's insane how quickly that batch sold out.

I guess mine just hasn't been emailed yet then. Oh well, won't matter anyways if I manage to order the Collectors edition.

Re: Yooka-Laylee on Switch through Limited Run Gammes

No, the normal price for the non-collectors edition without backer discount is $49.99. The Collectors edition (which they now seem to be calling the Classic Edition) is priced at $74.99. I'm not seeing anything set at $249.99, but there is a $219.99 September 7th Mega-Bundle, if that's what you're r...

Re: Lessons Playtonic shouldn't learn from Yooka Laylee

I agree with all the comments regarding not hand-holding. It's one of the most important things, in my opinion, that Playtonic needs to do going forwards. The original Gloomy Gem Grotto was one of the most challenging sections of the game for me. I felt like I was back in the 90's playing an actual ...

Thanks for posting that twitter link. I had seen Grants tweet way back then, but I had not noticed Andy's subsequent tweet. Perhaps that means it's still a possibility someday, perhaps not.

Excellent news! Good to hear confirmation they're still working on Yooka Laylee DLC as well as what I can only assume might be a new project. I'll be looking forwards to when they start talking more about them. :D

Re: Almost one year since yooka-laylee

It would be nice to hear about the DLC, and it would certainly be cool to hear about it around the games 1 year anniversary, but I wouldn't worry too much about what their silence means at this point. A recent tweet from Grant Kirkhope seems to indicate Playtonic is still hard at work on something. ...
