Re: The music is so damn good

I felt his Banjo work was better. YL's music isn't worse in itself, but I miss environmental noises and you had a lot more variantions of a level's theme in the Banjo series than you do here.

Re: Update Impressions!

Planker's Moodymaze Marsh pagie was way harder and more annoying

Isn't that the one where you have to place some fruits in holes? You might not know that you can grab those fruits with Yooka's tongue to just drag them around.

I'm certainly not disagreeing there's this pirate theme, though. Which is cool, considering it's been a recurring theme in the DKC series and was even visible in BK & BT.

Re: Radio silence

Sure. Whatever you say. I think this argument has become moot quite a while ago. You complained that Playtonic should be faster with their updates and then talk about some other newsletter instead. Whatever am I supposed to say here?

Re: What I love about Yooka Laylee

The Moodymaze Marsh and Capital Cashino bosses were really cool. Both felt much more platformer-y than most of the remaining game. Also, that one point in dialogue where Quack winks at Capital B and he gets it all wrong. That was pretty hilarious imo. Those bosses were awesome! I didn't read sp...

Re: Radio silence

I work indie atm. The point is that you have to choose what you put out. You have to halt your actual work and consider what's good enough to be shown. And whether it actually fits what you want to say. If all you want to say is "George is atm doing our animation tree", fine, screencap the...

Re: Radio silence

As an aside, most developers don't love spending their office time to create some screenshots for the press guy instead of using it to do, you know, their job. Or rather, time developers spend doing screenshots is at least as much "wasted developer time" as it is "saved press guy tim...

Re: What the hell are you doing playtonic

They're doing the game with Unity, so porting a game isn't that difficult in general. Of course, the Switch is still relatively new, so there probably isn't as many ways (besides official docs) to help them troubleshooting yet.

Re: Radio silence

I dont think you need to offer up as much detail as the Camelot Unchained dev team. However it would be good twice a month to give a brief status report to backers. The project manager/studio head (Gavin Price) should know the high level status details of the team off the top of his head, so it wou...

Re: Radio silence

I'm just curious if any of the posters in this thread have experience in making video games, because I do not, but I would assume that it's incredibly time consuming. Don't you want the company your supporting to be hard at work doing exactly what they need to be doing instead of updating you that ...

Re: Is Yooka-Laylee the True Spiritual Successor of Banjo-Kazooie? (SURVEY)

It's closer to BK and BT than pretty much any excisting game, including DK64. It's also shorter and has much less variety than the Banjo titles. Possibly the high expectations leave some people disappointed, making their critizism extra harsh - nonetheless, I don't think it's unfair to say YL is wor...

Re: JonTron and Playtonic Games

Did Playtonic Games decide their JonTron removal decision on their own, or were they somehow pressured by a feminazi social media user? I know that for some reason some people love to blame feminists/activists for everything they don't agree with (what the heck does feminism even have to do with th...

He said some things on his channel that Playtonic felt they didn't want to be associated with, so they cut his voice acting role from the game. If you're an actual Anonymous activist, I presume you have the internet skills to search this forum for the already-closed discussion on this. Long story sh...

Am I the only one who hates the Knights of Hamalot?

So, the Hamalot Knights. I hate them. Why? Well, I don't really know. Perhaps because their names are so incredibly lame puns that I cringe every time I read one. Maybe it's partly because Scoffsalot has the only voice in the game that genuinely annoys me, with grunts and barf sounds mixed together....

Re: Source Gaming - The Next Playtonic Games Protagonist

You could say the same thing about Banjo or Conker in Diddy Kong Racing. They were as boring as the rest till they got their own games. Just becuz they don't do much in one game, doesn't mean they can't be good in their own game. Yeah, but if the characters aren't judged by their perceived potentia...
