Re: Switch Waiting Room - Friendly Conversations While We Wait

No, I haven't played it at all because I'm waiting for the Switch version. But I think it'd be hilarious if Yooka gets pants if you collect all the tonics . It's not all "tonics" that you need to collect, but... ah, just wait and see! ;) Think about Gobi's Valley and/or Treasure Trov...

Re: Switch Waiting Room - Friendly Conversations While We Wait

how would you guys feel about discovering Rare is making a new Banjo game? Excited? Skeptical? Irritated? How about a full HD remake of Banjo Kazooie? I'd wait and see. Retro Studios have taught us that it doesn't always take the original developers to create a great new entry to an established ser...

I just added Glitterglaze Glacier + variants + Frosty Fray to my 2017 christmas mix. :D I'm loving all of them!

Re: My in-depth "review"/analysis of Yooka-Laylee

I agree. While your review was well-written, I think it lacked pointing out what you enjoyed about the game. Even if a game is complete garbage (which you say Y-L isn't) a good reviewer should always try to look for positive aspects - just like he should look for negative aspects of something he thi...

Re: My in-depth "review"/analysis of Yooka-Laylee

Is this the analysis you tried to link? https://mattyjohn.wordpress.com/2017/04/23/yooka-laylee-the-bear-er-chameleon-bat-are-back-i-guess/ I agree about that review fatigue by the way... I'm really glad I didn't read a single preview/review before beating the game myself - and I sometimes wish I wo...

Yes it is and no I didn't know! :D Damn! Thanks for pointing it out, I hope I will remember this on my next playthrough. ;)

Re: Update Impressions!

It's amazing how many things they fixed/improved and how close they paid attention to the complaints people had. I personally won't replay the game before the remaining stretch goals have been met (64 bit shader mode, orchestrated soundtrack, developer walkthrough, free DLC, YL rap inside the game) ...

Re: How would you have changed the story/ending sequence? [obvious SPOILERS]

5) Also, CHARACTER PARADE . WHY was this not in the game. Yesterday I finally beat Capital B and finished the game 100%. In the ending scene all (or at least most?) characters you met in the game joined Yooka and Laylee celebrating in Shipwreck Creek. Was this added by an update? Or did you mean so...

You aren't. ;)

Yeah, since I fell in love with Playtonic's witty humour during the last 2 years I also decided to play Yooka-Laylee in English. I might try the German localisation on my second playthrough, though.

Re: Rextro and kartos

Heh, funny. My main complaint with Kartos is that it's no challenge to reach the end of the track, but you have that secondary task thrown at you instead. I really hoped Kartos would be exactly like those old DKC mine levels, and was disappointed with him being just another mini game about collecti...

Re: Rextro and kartos

I didn't enjoy them. I wouldn't want them to be cut from following games, though, since I actually like both characters. So here's why I didn't like them and what I would like to change for the sequel: Kartos: I agree to EekumBokum202... While the Kartos challenges certainly had flaws, most of the t...

I'd love to see Dragon Quest V and VI, two of my favorite JRPGs next to Chrono Trigger. The SNES versions never got officially translated, though, so it's unlikely...

Re: Completed without walkthrought?

There were a few pagies where I actually needed help. I just asked my girlfriend to look at walkthroughs and give me hints instead of plain solutions. :) Glitterglaze Glacier: - The pagie inside a movable block of ice... I had the right idea of moving it to the ventilation grid. I didn't underst...

Re: Yooka-laylee is better than bk,bt,dk64?

So far I'd say: Banjo-Kazooie > Yooka-Laylee > Banjo-Tooie > Donkey Kong 64 I'm 25 hours in, have seen all 5 worlds, expanded world 1 and 2 and I can honestly say (for me) it's the most fun 3D platforming experience since Banjo-Kazooie! I really like the idea of world expansion because it helped me ...

Also he says every now and again, a reptile once came through here before, he was obsessed with crystals, what's that a reference to? My first thought was Croc. It might be a little far-fetched but at least he collects crystals. ;) Croc: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/9c/Croc_Legend_of...

I might be wrong since I'm usually raging when I'm playing the Kartos challenges, but isn't that where David's "Jungle Challenge" went?

You could try controller mapping tools like Xpadder to fix this, at least until there's an update.

Re: Yooka-Laylee: General Discussion Thread

Am I the only one who didn't find this challenge that difficult? The slower you go, the easier it is. If your eye sight is on point, when your glow runs out, you can still faintly make out the platforms. I don't know... maybe I was too obsessed with reaching that pagie. The darkness wasn't a proble...
