Re: Spin-off graphic novel revealed!

Like with any franchise's suplemental material, people don't have to like the comic and can ignore it but disregarding it as fanfiction is harmful for Playtonic and YL because it goes against their plan, like calling merchandise "fan art" or ports "fan games". Disagree. Fan made...

Re: Spin-off graphic novel revealed!

Since he has the blessing of Playtonic I don't consider it fan fiction, I don't think they would approve it if he completely derailed from the source material. To me, if staff from Playtonic had written it and he'd just illustrated it, that would have been alright, but not if it's written by a fan....

Re: Spin-off graphic novel revealed!

I'm definitely not interested either because it's not by Playtonic who are the ones who know what their characters are supposed to be like and what their personalities are. I consider this comic to just be fanfiction, and I don't like fanfiction for any fandom. Plus I don't like how Laylee has been ...

Re: How many Kickstarter milestones are there left for Playtonic Games to complete?

Playtonic said today in a comment on their latest Facebook post as well as a reply to a message on Twitter that they'll have an update about the DLC "soon" (yes I know, our favourite word). Considering from what I've read about Limited Run Games's policy of not producing game carts until a...

Re: Playtonic Games has a new Community Manager!

I was curious whether or not she'd be an Administrator or at least a moderator on these forums, but I haven't really seen here around here yet... I hope that turns out to be the case, though. I saw her say on Twitter that she doesn't start the job until this coming Monday, so that's why we haven't ...

Re: How many Kickstarter milestones are there left for Playtonic Games to complete?

Goals not met yet: - N64 shader (which is a Tonic) - Developer walkthrough - Orchestral score - DLC (free for backers) (Am I forgetting something?) Wasn't there something about adding extra language translation options (or maybe that already happened)? Also I thought someone on these boards mention...

Re: Yooka-Laylee on Switch through Limited Run Gammes

I'd have settled for the standard version if I had to, but I'm happy to say I was able to snag a copy of the Classic Edition! Glad the discount code worked for that one, too. It's insane how quickly that batch sold out. Oh good! :) I'm happy to see that at least some actual fans of the game...

Re: Yooka-Laylee on Switch through Limited Run Gammes

Well, that would mean 3000 pcs will be sold out in approx. 3 minutes or so. That's crazy! Sure is! Although from what I've read on social media in the comments sections about the Limited Run Games collector's editions, it seems a lot of scalpers buy them just to put them on ebay to take advantage o...

Re: Yooka-Laylee on Switch through Limited Run Gammes

I think they do them in two batches, but that the first batch is the biggest.
The next smaller batch will be at 6pm Eastern time which I think is 10pm Friday GMT (Greenwich Mean Time).

Luckily I got one! :)

Congratulations on getting one! :)

I timed how long it took for this batch to sell out and it was about 2 minutes and 5 seconds. :o

Re: Yooka-Laylee on Switch through Limited Run Gammes

•Backers of the Kickstarter campaign will receive a discount code towards the game (I assume to use on either the standard or collector's edition) that will work on the release day of Friday the 7th September only. My assumption was wrong - I just was checking out the Limited Run Games Twitter feed...

Re: Yooka-Laylee on Switch through Limited Run Gammes

The release date has changed to Friday the 7th of September. I had a feeling it would be delayed, because we hadn't got any email from Limited Run Games yet announcing the game was going on sale in 12 hours. I also hope the delay is due to my theory (wishful thinking?) that the DLC will be included ...

Yeah I saw that yesterday too. Bit disappointing, but fingers crossed it means the DLC will be finished and included on the Switch cart.

Re: N64 graphics

I think Playtonic might have caused issues for themselves (such as a future barrage of complaints) by naming it the "64- bit Tonic" when the Kickstarter stretch goal said it would be a N64 shader mode, not N64 graphics . I think now a lot of people will be expecting the low-poly N64 graphi...

Re: Almost 6 months after the Switch version release...

I could be wrong and Playtonic actually do turn the game low-poly (though I doubt it as surely that would take a lot of time and then wouldn't they have to re-test for bugs?), but I'm thinking that Playtonic might have set themselves up for a lot of whinging in future by people who expected the gam...

DLC stands for downloadable content, and they said "additional content" in the update, so I took that to mean the DLC.

Re: Almost 6 months after the Switch version release...

I like how the 64 Bit tonic is looking from that screenshot, but I've already seen several people complaining that it is not looking "low-poly". The actual Kickstarter stretch goal only called it a "shader" so I highly doubt they're going to go through the whole game making every...
