Re: Kind of surprised about fans reaction.

The thing most people dont talk about, is that the guy who designed this game is not from Rare's Nintendo golden age. He was one of the designers from Microsoft Rare, and all he really did was make mediocre/average games. 1. Many key staff do work at Playtonic 2. YL design lead Gav Price worked at ...

Re: Zelda - Breath of the Wild and green tunics [slight spoilers]

I beat it (all shrines) about a week ago and I can't stop thinking about that dang game and have periodically gone back to it just to run around and upgrade some armor. What a video game. I have done 117 shrines. Cant see any more on my map. Will it notify or award me when I've done them all? Yeah i...

Re: Worried about receiving my Digital Steam Copy

backerkit is weird, as long as you can find the link to your survey then you will be able to retrieve your digital codes. If you have every email from them just look for the one asking you to fill out your survey and click the link to get to your stuff, no account required.

Re: POLL: Playtonic Kart Racer + Online Multiplayer

unlike YL I would hope that they paid more attention to modern design trends with racing games when it came to handling and controls. I agree. By all means, please experiment beyond a typical Mario Kart clone to include interesting and creative elements, such as boss battles and a story mode, but s...

Re: Early first Spoiler free review is in! 8/10

Its commitment to nostalgia is both Yooka-Laylee’s greatest strength and its greatest weakness. The characters are largely annoying and the writing and delivery is almost universally bad These are two things that worried me from the start. Id like a few throwbacks but I didn't want a game that's ba...

Re: POLL: Playtonic Kart Racer + Online Multiplayer

Mario Kart 8 is so so good, way better than I ever thought a kart racer could be. I adore that game, and honestly the online is a pretty big reason for that? I felt like it worked a lot better than one would expect, and I'm looking forward to jumping back into it in April with MK8 Deluxe. So in that...

Re: Almost guys... In a few hours we will know if the game will be recieved well!

Also keep in mind that if somebody gives it a bad review: who cares.

Like sure it would be cool if everybody was into this pretty niche genre we're into, but flipping out and name-calling because it isn't somebody's jam just makes you look like a real dink.

The more you know.

Re: (Neogaf) Jim Sterling, Laura Kate Dale: Warning to Yooka-Laylee Pre-Orderers

I sorta expected some divisiveness since the kickstarter, since people tend to look back on the genre with maybe not as much fondness as the people on this board have. Also was pretty worried about console performance, switched from PS4 to Steam because of it, but still kinda a bummer. The Gamexplai...

Re: Poll: Will You Avoid Spoilers?

I haven't really watched much of anything since the capital cashino footage was released so yeah I would imagine it won't be too difficult. I'll skim reviews just to get a read on the room of how it is, but I'm not looking for any specifics.

An interesting observation! -It kind of comes back to the whole "freedom of speech does not mean freedom of consequences" arguement. They weren't silencing his views but rather acting accordingly to the things he said. Unfortunately that's also a sword that cuts both ways, nobody here is ...

Re: Jon Jafari (JonTron) and his role in Yooka-Laylee

Not everyone feels this way mind you, but most of the comments criticizing playtonic share this sentiment. Thoughts? I think it's funny that everybody assumes they MUST but caving to outside pressure (which is always wrong??) and so they want to say things "right" by pressuring them?? If ...

Re: What might happen to Playtonic if Yooka-Laylee flops...

I really do wonder what Steam will do with all future refund requests from angry people after giving the game a negative review. I mean, kickstarter backers will get a steam code so they are able to review and refund. Unless Steam would prevent this from being possible, probably the platform doesn'...

Real quick, the couple of people kicking up a tantrum still, you were probably just as outraged when Nintendo fired Alison Rapp, right? You know, since it is just the principal of thing, it would be hypocritical of you to not be just as upset when somebody you don't agree with gets let go under ver...

Re: What might happen to Playtonic if Yooka-Laylee flops...

Playtonic cannot delete bad reviews, steam could if it was some gross violation of terms of use, for example putting in links to pornographic websites. However its pretty easy to give a negative review even if it doesnt deserve it, you can say you just didnt like the gameplay and critique it on act...

Re: What might happen to Playtonic if Yooka-Laylee flops...

Also, they can absolutely delete steam reviews, and are well within their rights if a review is irrelevant or just incorrect. And judging by how quickly the discourse here has descended into people shouting "SJW!!!!!!!" and more insanely, "white genocide," I'm sure there will be...

Re: What might happen to Playtonic if Yooka-Laylee flops...

Steam reviews are maybe a notch above metacritic reviews in the scale of stuff that's totally useless to consumers. The game has a decently big following for a new indie project right now, and because of Kickstarter any sales after it releases will be profit for them. Because people are interested i...

Re: What might happen to Playtonic if Yooka-Laylee flops...

I know I said it before but I wouldn't worry too much about it. The Gamexplain video about them dropping jonathon tronathon has about 138,000 views and far more likes than dislikes, so the vocal group of trash babies aren't even numerous enough to make a dent there. If the game is good it'll do fine...

Can't believe it took 12 pages before we got a white genocide shout out. How many till we get to flat earth? I'm sure ya'll can figure out how to tie this back to Judaism so you can hit bingo on crazy conspiracy theories. Gonna peel outta this one for good I think because once you have people who sa...
