Re: Should the Toy-Box be made available to all ks backers?

I may have paid for the Toybox+, but I got to play it way ahead of everyone who is preordering now. Anyone that backed the game should get the opportunity to try it at this point, IMO. At the very least let them try the Toybox-non-plus Edition.

Re: Toybox update

Did it always have the configuration tool option? I don't recall that popping up last time I booted up the Toybox, but maybe my memory is failing me.

Re: A Reminder About the Delay

While it is a bit disappointing, I'm glad they Playtonic decided to give it a few more months for some added polish. I want to see the game polished to a mirror sheen. Not something that needs to be patched one, or multiple, times. :P

Re: Reminder that there are going to be over 73,000 names in the credits

Yeah, seems reasonable to me that they could have a "backer room" with the books readable with the backer's names! It'd be a cute addition, imo.

Either way, I'm certain they'll have the backer credits more well organized than MN9 did. Haha

Hivory Towers is a real world , it's not just a Hub World it has been announced that Hivory Towers is a world like Tribalstask Tropics or Glitterglaze Glacier. Re: Should Yooka-Laylee have a leveling system?

Nah, I think traversing the worlds to learn new moves keeps the game flowing better. And we can modify the game with the Play Tonics if we want some variety.

Re: Should Yooka-Laylee get the Pokemon Go treatment somewhere down the line?

Eh, to me the game's main attraction isn't that you're collecting things, it's how you're collecting things. Walking around a plain ol' town to "check in" and get a feather isn't the same as rolling, jumping, gliding, bouncing, etc. around a vast and enchanting world to collect stuff. I fe...

Re: Shovel Knight in Yooka-Laylee

Is Shovel Knight only on nintendo platforms? And will the inclusion in yooka be on all platforms? After watching a yt video yesterday it states that shovel knight is only for wii u and 3ds. Whys this? Here's hoping he won't be included in my Xbox One version . Shovel Knight is on most modern platfo...

Re: Speedrunning in Yooka-Laylee

Seems like the logical conclusion. B-K had a ton of Mumbo Tokens, but B-T narrowed it down to only a few Glowbos. Honestly, I'm all for this kind of streamlining. There still seems to be tons to explore and a lot of potential for creating new routes for Quills and Pagies.

Re: Eurogamer writer teases "cool announcement" for tomorrow

TBH, numerical ratings are very subjective and are a silly thing to get upset over anyway. A perfect 10 to someone might only be a 5 to someone else. While I'm mixed on this cameo, I don't think it's going to ruin the game for me. I mean, we have other knights in the same level, so it seems like a f...

I love the new trailer! All the new footage has just gotten me more excited for the game. And the idea behind the googly eyes seemingly possessing random objects to attack you? A really creative idea, all things considered! It was the eyes all along! I'm certain most everything will be cleaned...

I managed to get one of the enemies in the Toybox+ stuck in an animation loop.

Re: Please make the blob shadow optional

No harm in giving the ability to toggle it on and off. Though I imagine it'd make the game more difficult with it off. Platforming in 3D space without some kind of visual depth can be tricky without it.

Or I suppose we could just teach our children that other parts of the world spell those words a little differently. Guarantee if they spend any time online, they'll come across those words spelled that way. :P Honestly, I prefer the dialog as it is. It seems like a silly change considering it's perf...

Re: Ledge grabbing?

If the final game is designed with ledge grabbing in mind, I wouldn't mind it as an ability.

However, I don't think it's necessary if it's not. I had no issues with the jumping in the Toybox.

"Later this month" bit earlier than end of months perhaps :p

Here's to hoping that's just a means to keep it vague and it comes out sooner than we think!

One can dream, anyway. :D

Re: Why isn't Yooka Laylee as talked about as Mighty No. 9 was?

I think folks are taking a lot of failed or "disappointing" Kickstarters as a cautionary tale at this point. There were a bunch of folks reporting on Yooka-Laylee around E3, but most of them said the same things because they were given roughly the same hands-off demonstration, I believe. A...

Re: Less Hope For Yooka Laylee?

All we can do is hope they they learned and grew from their past experiences. From both bad and good. And there was a ton of good! Rare games were some of the best around in the 90's! Obviously going back the gameplay doesn't hold up 100% on some of our favorites, but the technology's changed, and o...
