Re: YL Switch Speculation Thread

I don't own a Switch and it doesn't influence my experience with the game nor my opinion, but how they have handled this particular area is absurd. They definitely should own up to where they dropped the ball and let their fans who want to play it on Switch know an ETD. And emphasis ESTIMATED if the...

Re: Gloomy Gem Grotto

I was able to walk (where you used to have to roll) across that first little segment without the glow power. It was brightened on top of the slippery surfaces being omitted. There is literally only one spot that is slippery now. The corplet is pretty easy to cull too. I think it's three of the sound...

Gloomy Gem Grotto

Wtf happened?! I liked the challenge of it. Now you can walk most this level without even needing the glow effect. It's ridiculously easy now. The spit and polish update fixed some things, bit they really didn't need to downgrade the challenge. This game was so easy upon release. It needed MORE chal...

Re: Playtonic: What we Want to Hear About

I've defended Playtonic's barely existent PR before as I'm sure some of you are aware and took part in the discussion, however, I don't think I can jump to their aid this time. It's been far too long without an update... even one just saying, "hey, we're still alive." And I don't use twitt...

Re: Why no E3 news

In their recent post about the update their working on (or the first post about the update, I can't remember) they mentioned they were skipping E3 to keep trucking.

Re: What I love about Yooka Laylee

FF, I loved the DK pirates. In Diddy's Kong Quest when they slide down the ropes was awesome.

Hopix, thanks for joining in! Did you play yet? If there's parts you loved, feel free to share!

Re: Radio silence

Panda, you keep bringing up this Camelot thing like it's a marker for all development.

I think I'm done with this thread though.

FailureFactory, I wish you luck if you want to continue but I don't think Panda is understanding our points.

Re: What I love about Yooka Laylee

The Moodymaze Marsh and Capital Cashino bosses were really cool. Both felt much more platformer-y than most of the remaining game. Also, that one point in dialogue where Quack winks at Capital B and he gets it all wrong. That was pretty hilarious imo. Those bosses were awesome! I didn't read sp...

Re: Radio silence

The developers take a screenshot of the work they are working on, while they are working on it to help show their status/progress. They are not spending hours setting up a scene and taking a bunch of screenshots like you would for promotional content. So no it doesn't cost any real time. The develo...

Re: What the hell are you doing playtonic

I like (even love) the game and completed it on my X1S (after buying one in April), but the guy has a point people. This takes WAY too long. Just release v1 on the Switch and update it at the same time as the other versions. We also get way too few updates and if we get 'em, they contain vague info...

Hmm... ⋅ Bloodborne ⋅ Hyper Light Drifter ⋅ Persona 5 ⋅ No Man's Sky ⋅ The Witness (Jonathan Blow's next game) ⋅ Wild (Michel Ancel's next game) ⋅ Mewgenics/Super Meat Boy Forever (Team Meat's next games) ...and probably some oth...

Re: Another List of Minor Issues & Proposals

1. Lizard Leap: Make Higher This move is very underwhelming. I was very put off by how small of a boost the jump gives compared to the ordinary double jump that the player can do. Even areas that "require" this move to reach are barely scaled with it. I propose the jump simply go higher, ...

Re: Any pinballers here? Just ordered my first machine and I'm way excited!

Wizard of Oz pinball sounds awesome. I went to a pinball arcade near Austin, TX and it had so many. I liked the Twilight Zone one and the X-Files one a lot but they had tons of awesome machines. They had a jumbo one too!

Re: 64-bit Tonic?

As for the other goodies in addition to 64-bit Tonic, does anyone know how they are going to work? Is the orchestral soundtrack going to replace what we have now automatically? How is the commentary stuff going to work out? My guess would be that the orchestral soundtrack would be something you cou...

Re: Radio silence

As an aside, most developers don't love spending their office time to create some screenshots for the press guy instead of using it to do, you know, their job. Or rather, time developers spend doing screenshots is at least as much "wasted developer time" as it is "saved press guy tim...
