Re: Capital Ca$hino!

I am rather fond of this stunning stage! Could the Sonic Adventure's action stage Casinopolis have served as a source of inspiration for it?

Re: NEW TRAILER - Gamescom 2016

I imagine the characters will only have a limited moveset while being in the fart bubble, pretty much like Metal Mario had underwater in SM64.

The room with Capital B's giant sculpture where books are absorbed looks dazzling!
And what about the piece of music... Every time a new tune is revealed is such a wonder.

Re: Share Your Ideas for Animations! Idle, rolling, talking, and more!

Perhaps not move the lips as voice mumbling doesn't really require it, but a little animation when you bring the camera close to the characters they could look at you (as far as their neck can turn!) like in CBFD. This would break the fourth wall but classic Rare game got tons of that kind of humoro...

I know what you are talking about. Characters whose motion was rendered throughout their body in an elegant, unutterable manner. For instance, among others, our late Claude Cat!

Re: Let's Talk Swimming

To sum up what I wrote elsewhere, the actions buttons could be used to perform various swimming style (breaststroke, flutter kick or whatever) while the control stick would be associated to adjust heading, to dive and surface. That works well when it comes to aiming. I also remember Talon Torpedo to...

Re: Toybox feedback & discussion thread (SPOILERS)

Like many other people, I faced difficulties with the swimming controls. One might use the jump or attack buttons to perform breaststroke while choosing a direction with the control stick, it would be easier I guess. And the horizontal axis for camera should be reversed, I was mistaken countless tim...

Re: Playtonic's next project

I pledged this first project because a revival of "collectathon" 3D platformers was something I really hankered after for years, and I feared there would be no one in the industry to finance it. We'll see if they were wrong or right. But for fresh projects, hey, make your business plan tar...

Re: Playtonic's next project

I've never asked myself the question, since I'm waiting so bad for the first game to materialize.
However, I am open to everything (but casual gaming). New projects and new ideas are welcomed.

Mmmkay... A karting game with Playtonic characters will be good too.

Re: E3 trailer by Playtonic

Maybe they can do something like "phantom Quills". Say you collect 60 quills then you die, your Quill record for that level will be 60, and the Quills you collected will reappear, but they'll be transparent and won't increase your Quill counter when collected. Any Quills you didn't collec...

Oh yeah, Mario Galaxy worked the same. That will be awesome!

Re: Interiors: Dr Puzz/Trowzer Building?

I really loved how the BK team, twenty years ago, managed to bypass hardware limitation by segmenting level design into many interior parts. They avoided artefacts like fog or clipping, of which lots of other games were full. And it brought more challenge, maybe a bit too far... I remember mazes lik...

Re: E3 trailer by Playtonic

So what is everyone's thoughts on there being no online features? I.e. no multiplater/scoreboards etc. I guess I expected it and I suppose it makes sense as getting all the various platforms online is probably quite difficult (I presume). Would have been fun though, I think, to play against people ...

Re: E3 trailer by Playtonic

Of course the hub world should be a huge place with a complicated series of paths and sections, through which we'll spend the majority of our time achieving countless goals, just as Grunty's Lair and Isle o' Hags were.
