Re: Yooka-Laylee's first anniversary!

May 2nd, 2015: (http://forums.playtonicgames.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1082&p=10792#p10792) I pledged 70! Don't care for the t-shirt, but I want everything physical (ex. the N64 thingy) & digital (for my Wii U). Maaaannnnn, I can' wait! :D May 3rd, 2015, Playtonic add higher stretch goals...

Re: Yooka-Laylee's first anniversary!

Primarily because the stretch goals had absolutely no impact on whether I did or didn't invest, nor did it affect the amount I backed with. I also understand that in a realistic world, not everything can go to plan, which was actually stated on the Yooka-Laylee Kickstarter page. The stretch goals w...

Re: Yooka-Laylee's first anniversary!

I just can’t understand that you could still feel satisfied IF (I think they will keep their promises tho) a company (in this case: PTG) you trusted and invested money in, doesn’t keep their promises. That’s pretty naive, if you ask me. :) Primarily because the stretch goals had absolutely no impac...

Re: Yooka-Laylee's first anniversary!

DLC was/is a (Kickstarter) promise, so they HAVE TO create it. Not true. There is literally no obligation, legal or otherwise, that says they have to fulfil all stretch goals. Now, if you're talking about maintaining their trustworthiness as a company, then you may have a point... But personally, I...

Re: Almost one year since yooka-laylee

I'm hoping we'll get an update about the DLC soon. I'm hoping the quiet is a sign of Playtonic being hard at work, rather than giving up.

Re: POLL: Playtonic Kart Racer + Online Multiplayer

http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2017-11-28-the-second-launch-of-yooka-laylee There are a number of interesting things discussed in the article, but this particular quote I thought was pretty relevant to the topic of this thread. "We'd love to do something in that genre," Price admit...

Re: Any update about dlc?

If they were to release the DLC before the Switch version came out, there would have probably been an uproar. I wonder if they have been working on the DLC simultaneously to the Switch version, meaning we may see the DLC shortly after the Switch version releases in a couple of weeks. They were very ...

Re: Funding the Next Game

I would back another Playtonic Kickstarter project; I really enjoyed Yooka-Laylee and it was without a doubt worth my money. I had hoped their next game would be funded by the profits of Yooka-Laylee, but I really don't know how realistic that is. I'm not sure what to make of the huge delay on the S...

Re: Final Boss Fight Frustrations (obvious spoilers)

I used the invicibility shield and a tonic that speeds up your energy bar regeneration. Without this, the fight would have taken me a lot longer!

Re: Rextro and kartos

You're a terrible completionist if one small section makes you turn in an entire game. Rextro and Kartos provide 15 Pagies out of 145.

Re: Completed without walkthrought?

I got the game a week before release, so had to play without any walkthroughs; there were a few times I really wanted to use one, but obviously couldn't! I will say, though, that persisting and completing the game without any outside help gave me a lot of satisfaction. It's great to finally solve a ...

Re: How The Chameleon met the Bat

Yes. This could be the next game. Where you play as just Yooka with basic moves. Eventually you team up with Laylee. Would need a decent story though. Prequa-Laylee Not so keen on this idea. Taking away moves would probably feel limiting and less fun. But yes; I am interested in finding out more ab...

Re: Future Games: Sequels OR Spinoffs

The Galactic Girl: (spoilers) http://forums.playtonicgames.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5375 Or Clara the skeleton in a 2.5D platforming adventure, similar to Donkey Kong Country. Or Rextro. I love his character design, but I don't want his game to be like the arcade games in Yooka-Laylee. Maybe a ka...

Re: Sales of Yooka-Laylee

It's really hard to make estimates when you consider all the backers, which are arguably the biggest fanbase. They need to sell tens of thousands to make a big enough profit to independently finance another game without the help of another Kickstarter.

Re: I need ONE more quill in world 3.....

Have you tried the 'hoarder' tonic from Vendi? It makes a whistle sound when you get close to an item; tge whistle gets louder when you get closer to the item. That IS good advice. I've been using the topic where I can grab quills with my Yooka's tongue but I should use that one yeah. Does it perha...

Finally reached the Toybox Secret. Dialogue is 50.1%? I'm assuming I need to finish or 100% the game, or it has something to do with teh skulls... very interesting! Nothing happens with this. We need to wait for a patch -- it's a future secret. Telling you now so that you're not disappo...
