Re: Banjo-Kazooie is in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate!

I couldn’t watch the Nintendo Direct live because it was on at 2am my time. So I had to stay off the internet during my work breaks today so I didn’t see any E3 spoilers. Watched the Direct after work and as soon as that puzzle piece bounced across the floor, I was internally screaming “THAT’S A JI...

Re: NEW BANJO GAME AT E3???

Like I said, The Banjo-Kazooie series probably isn't coming back. The 3D platformer revival is at its peak, if MS still isn't convinced to jump aboard then nothing is going to change their mind.

Impossible Lair should have an unlockable "necktie" tonic.

Banjo-Kazooie styled 3D platformer = pants

Donkey Kong Country styled 2D platformer = necktie

It just makes too much sense.

Re: Playtonic Games announces Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair

I read that someone here said that they want a DK-style buddy system for the game, but I prefer a BK buddy system for this game 100%, as DKC games are still alive & kicking and thus we already have access to such a buddy system! The more BK influences, the better (imo)! :D But the modern DKC ga...

Re: NEW BANJO GAME AT E3???

If anything I think the new merch is just another thing pointing to Banjo in Smash, if it's pointing to anything at all. I don't think a new Banjo-Kazooie game is ever going to happen, and I say that as someone who's primary interest going into every E3--since I first started watching them back when...

Re: Playtonic Games announces Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair

I think the only thing I'd want different about this game is for it to implement the buddy mechanic from DKC. You know, like, have Laylee follow behind Yooka, and make it so the two can swap places with the press of a button.

The Yooka-Laylee page is up on LRG's website now. Man, seeing that picture just feels so perfect, like this was Yooka-Laylee's destiny from the beginning.

Re: Yooka-Laylee's first anniversary!

Didn't most people bitch and moan about the idea of Y-L having an orchestral soundtrack? I remember Grant being really excited about it and then being shocked by the negative reaction. Doesn't seem like Playtonic can win no matter what they do.

Maybe they'll develop it along side the new game they are working on, and it will tie into the new game somehow.

I'm really impressed by how drastically the game has improved from when they first showed it off. I'll definitely give it a try now.

Re: FINALLY - Switch release date!!!

Edit: I just read all comments under PTG's Twitter & FB Switch game release date posts. MANY people are not going to buy the Switch version anymore, 'cause it took so long to release, or 'cause they bought/played/completed it already (on another platform), or 'cause there will be no physical ve...

Re: Funding the Next Game

They should just use Switch as the base system they develop for. They're probably going to have a bigger market on the Switch anyway, despite the whole debacle with the Switch port of Yooka-Laylee. Unless Nintendo pays them to do it the Switch will never be the base system for any third party. Imag...

Re: Funding the Next Game

And then release the game day one on all platforms, now that they're getting the hang of the most recent newcomer, the Nintendo Switch. The Switch will never get the game on day one because it takes so much extra effort to downgrade a game enough to run on it. Playtonic is a small independent studi...

Re: YL Switch Speculation Thread

I'm going to guess 2018 at this point, it seems like they are having a lot of trouble with this version and the months are just flying by with no new news. Personally, I think a release next year could work out for the best, as long as it releases as "Yooka Laylee Deluxe" and comes bundled...

Re: Update Impressions!

Most people (including myself) just don't like frustratingly difficult minigames (at least when they are mandatory to fully complete the game). It's one thing for the main gameplay to be difficult, but with minigames you're forced to master an entirely new gameplay style with a small amount of gamep...

Re: Update is 6x the size of what comes on the disk! WHY?!

That's what I wonder about a lot of modern gaming. What happens when the Wii U/3DS servors go down and all the DLC content is no longer available? Will new players have no way of playing as DLC characters in SSB4? Will we lose access to Pokemon Bank, and thus the ability to transfer pokemon from pre...

That character design looks pretty awesome. I'd love for her to be the star of Playtonic's next game and for it to be a scifi third person shooter like Jet Force Gemini!

Eh, the way you talk seems to put into question who the "babies" are. Hint: It's the ones crying about a racist's removal from the game on Facebook. Facebook? So you're friends with them? You should probably block them and exclude them from your whole life, they're just heathens with the ...

I don't care about online, what I want is an adventure mode with a hub.
