Re: Now that the Kickstarter is a huge success, PLEASE add 3DS and Vita versions as goals!

I think 360/PS3/Vita ports would be fine, because it should be really easy and inexpensive to port Unity engine games to multiple platforms (The only thing Playtonic would need to pay for are dev-kits for those platforms, as the actual tools used to port to those consoles are completely free.) A 3DS...

Does anyone else think David Wise's music doesn't fit the game?

Grant's music sounds exactly like it was ripped out of a Banjo game, while David's music just feels... off, it sounds fairly close to his work on DKC Tropical Freeze, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. But it doesn't really seem like it would work in what is meant to be a Spiritual Successor to th...

Re: What draws you to 3D platfromers?

Definitely nostalgia for me, i grew up playing Donkey Kong 64 and Super Mario Sunshine. So i'd say that's what caused it to turn into one of my favorite game genres.

Re: Banjo Kazooie & Nintendo

so with all the consumer interests on a competitive platform well why don't they just remake the 1st two banjo games on the N3DS? i mean it would sell, microsoft dosnt have a portable handheld platform & let rare develop for the GBA before Two words: Mobile Devices. Back in 2004-2008, Nintendo ...

Absolutely amazing PSN Flash Sale going on right now

(Oh hey, we finally have a board to post general stuff on, i'd honestly rather have 2 separate boards for general gaming and non gaming stuff, but this is close enough, anyways, onto the thread.) You can get ⋅ PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX ⋅ TOKYO JUNGLE ⋅ Gravity Ru...

Re: Kickstarter demographic issue: kids don't go to kickstar

I don't really consider it an issue, because the main target audience is most likely going to be teenagers/adults who grew up playing Rare's N64 stuff, (That isn't to say the game will end up being inappropriate for children, it's just that they aren't exactly the ones funding it.) and that audience...

Re: What other games are you excited for?

I'm just going to list games that match with the tone of Project Ukulele. ⋅  A Hat In Time: Technically it's already out due to the Beta (Which i own), but i'm still quite excited for the full game. ⋅  Dad By The Sword: Just look at the game description, it sounds absolutely ridi...

Re: If there's a beta (Early Access), would you play it?

I'm pretty sure that it's incredibly likely there will be a beta considering there's going to be a Kickstarter. The only catch will be that it's most likely exclusive to Kickstarter and not publicly released (Though i know that a few Kickstarters, like A Hat In Time, had their betas/alphas publicly ...

Re: That one Rare title you hate?

What even is Taboo the Sixth Sense? I guess at worse I can always emulate it. Sounds a bit like an adventure game though. Kings Quest style. Basically, it's a Tarot Card reader (Not an actual game, literally all it does it simulate Tarot Cards)for the NES, and is particularly notable for managing t...

Re: A hat in time (Hat kid?) cameo?

I honestly would be surprised if Hat Kid doesn't make a cameo, considering the fact both games currently share Grant Kirkhope as a composer. and there's also this.

Re: Favorite musics from Rare games

⋅  Arich Boss from the GBA port of DKC3 is one of the few tracks i'd say is better than the original SNES soundtrack. ⋅  Hideout Helm is an incredibly tense track that perfectly fits with the "epic finale" feel of the level. Also, the version that plays after you beat ...

Re: Favourite Rare XBOX title

The Killer Instinct reboot is absolutely amazing (I know it's not actually developed by Rare, but it's still based off one of their IPs.) and pretty much all of their re-releases (Aside from Jetpac Refueled, and even that was fairly decent.) are much better than the originals, especially Perfect Dar...

I'm pretty much going to go with just backing up to the first or second Psychical reward tiers. Which is what i usually go with when backing a Kickstarter.

Re: That one Rare title you hate?

Did you know that some of Rare's early NES games were published by LJN? Because i'd say that pretty much all of those games are complete garbage, including legendarily bad titles like Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Nightmare on Elm Street. Rare also worked on three Sesame Street games for NES, though t...

Since no one mentioned it yet (Surprisingly enough, considering it's the reason modern Rare is hated so much.)

Re: Careful With Competition

aside from the general friendliness with Playtonic Dead Guy Perez mentioned, and Grant Kirkhope also composing some music for it. I wouldn't really consider A Hat In Time to be like Rareware's stuff, i've played the beta, and it really feels closer to something like Super Mario 64 than Banjo-Kazooie...

Anyone else notice the inexplicable lack of Googly eyes?

Seriously look at the recent screenshots. http://i.imgur.com/WFr858t.jpg http://i.imgur.com/mEW2yya.jpg Where's the Googly eyes? If this was a (old) Rare game, you'd be seeing them on the plants in the first screenshot, and on the mushrooms in the second screenshot, and yet they only put them on the...
