Re: You know what's awesome?

Jim's reviews are pisstakes done for the entertainment value, not to be taken as serious reviews. Then why are his reviews allowed on metacritic? Metacritic is not about getting serious reviews. Metacritic is about getting as many reviews as possible. Entertainment reviews are there, there's enough...

It's awesome! Big thank you to Playtonic! :D

That's good to hear. I'm in Illinois as well, and my package is in WI currently. I'll probably receive it sometime this week.

I also got an error. Though for some reason it never closed the game down, even though it says it crashed.

I'm in Illinois, and still haven't received mine. I'm betting we'll get ours either at the end of the week or sometime next week.

Re: You know what's awesome?

Jim Sterling thought differently I guess. I haven't read his review, but I hope the stamina bar wasn't one of his complaints and a reason for why he gave YL a 2/10. Jim's reviews are pisstakes done for the entertainment value, not to be taken as serious reviews. Then why are his reviews allowed on ...

Re: will backers get the game slightly early?

I would at least like to pre load it so I can actually be able to play it tomorrow. I don't have very good internet, so the chances of me being able to play it tomorrow are some-what slim.

Re: Another new 3D platformer appeared: Poi!

It was in early access for maybe a year, and I've had the game wish listed for a long time now, but the game just doesn't look creative to me. That's probably what's keeping me from purchasing it.

works well in Breath of the Wild. Jim Sterling thought differently I guess. I haven't read his review, but I hope the stamina bar wasn't one of his complaints and a reason for why he gave YL a 2/10. If I'm not mistaken, I believe there are butterflies that you can either collect to get more stamina...

Re: will backers get the game slightly early?

Don't get your hopes up on being able to play it before the release date if you get your digital code early. I'm pretty sure it's just so you can pre load it earlier.

Re: Early reviews

I particularly liked in BotW having to find the memories by looking at the landmarks in the photos and working out which direction you needed to face by the angle of the photos, without much help except from the occasional hint from the painting guy, as it encouraged real exploration and knowing th...

Re: Early reviews

This gives me a bad feeling about the Switch version of the game... It actually makes sense that PTG didn't give any release date info yet, 'cause they probably can't get the game to run properly... (Which is a bad situation.) ^ This is an insinuation from ME, not a fact. Yeah the Switch version wi...

Re: Early reviews

I feel like the game may have been a bit rushed. They could have polished the game more in the technical areas before releasing it. I find this to be disappointing, even if they can patch those issues. People on PC probably won't have as many issues if they have a decent rig (I hope). I was honestly...

Re: (Neogaf) Jim Sterling, Laura Kate Dale: Warning to Yooka-Laylee Pre-Orderers

It is important to note that framerate is not necessarily tied to updates. E.g. in Unity you can use fixedupdate to make sure that the controls are read in fixed intervals. Though, if the framerate is not consistent, this can lead to some really nasty behaviour... This is true. Game Maker also allo...

Re: Jon Jafari (JonTron) and his role in Yooka-Laylee

I hate to give this thread some life, but I found out that Manveer Heir, the openly racist guy that worked at Bioware, wasn't fired and instead left the company. https://imgoat.com/uploads/9f0f895fb9/7490.png So I guess I'm a little more upset about Jon's work being removed now. And it's just like w...

Re: (Neogaf) Jim Sterling, Laura Kate Dale: Warning to Yooka-Laylee Pre-Orderers

noob question , what mean game performance? and what mean 60 constant% i see this time to time , i never really understand what it mean.. and to me its not mean a lot.. anyway i'm sure the game will be awesome. OK, you know that some games are very fluid (like, for instance Mario Galaxy), whereas o...

Re: (Neogaf) Jim Sterling, Laura Kate Dale: Warning to Yooka-Laylee Pre-Orderers

I don't think it's anything to worry about. I had a very steady framerate in the Toybox, but then again I have a pretty high end PC rig. I believe I remember Jim Sterling playing Poi on Steam (another collect-a-thon game) and it sounded like he wasn't exactly enjoying it. I don't think these types o...

Re: Jon Jafari (JonTron) and his role in Yooka-Laylee

Except it does still exist in developed countries. Sure black people aren't lynched by mobs anymore or women aren't stoned to death in the streets, but that doesn't mean there isn't oppression. People from minority groups tell you it happens to them all the time - are you calling them liars just be...

Yeah... this Jonno person from Team 17 who is actively moderating the Steam Forum as we speak is being attacked from every angle possible by a bunch of lowlifes and he really tries to not give in to any temptations but he still talks with all of the members as well. Awesome. Those attackers don't h...

Re: Jon Jafari (JonTron) and his role in Yooka-Laylee

I like it that the OP made this excellent thread some hours before this whole debacle began (and is still ongoing as we speak because Playtonic stays silent), got his wish, and never came back to say thank you to Playtonic who now endures the onslaught of their pissed off customers. Thanks OP! /s M...
