Re: PLEASE, change world 3 lighting! (Spoilers)

While the first image you posted is a good one, Yooka and Laylee looks brighter than normal on it and they're unaffected by the darkness and the lights around, which would look pretty weird.

Also, this world has a pretty well-balanced lighting to me, unlike the lighting in most of the game.

What happened to David Wise's music? I feel like all I hear was grants? I don't recall hearing the jungle theme that he made in game.

I'm pretty sure I heard his songs in the Minecart minigames and in Moodymaze Marsh boss.

Re: Let's talk about Nuts & Bolts

Good gameplay (I wish there were more on foot exploration though), nice graphics, nice music. It's a good as a spin-off game. The character designs are good too, but fans of the old games will miss the old designs. The plot premise itself is good enough: Banjo and Grunty goes to other world into som...

Re: Donkey Kong 64, underated game?

I love this game, it has a lot of charm on it. Got 170 golden bananas. But here's the problem with this game: You have fruit guns!... which the main purpose is to shoot buttons with the corresponding face of your Kong. You have musical instruments! That instantly kills all enemies on screen! That yo...

Re: Yooka-Laylee: Out Now!

I really disagree on the "too open" point. Banjo Kazooie AND Tooie worlds were totally open. You walk in, then you can go anywhere. Sometimes there's light funneling (most levels slapped a door or path right in your vision to "suggest" a path) but they all plopped you in and let...

Unless they interfere with normal gameplay, I agree to keep em in.

Re: JonTron's Voice Found?

Seems like alot of the voices in the game sound bad. Even Yookas voice sounds bad, mainly because of the sound he makes seems like a cross between "Ew" and "Ah" and it just sounds grating. I liked Banjos voice, it was silly, friendly, and warm. Glad that someone agrees with me o...

Re: What Other Retro-Revival Icons Would Like To See in Yooka-Laylee along with Shovel Knight?

I don't think anyone would fit better than hat kid in terms of style, but as some people said, I think it's better to keep external characters away from the game for now. Although I wouldn't be mad seeing them.

Re: That one Rare title you hate?

IMO Kinect Sports and Banjo Nuts and Bolts are just fine because they did a good job on what they tried to be. Star Fox Adventures, on the other hand, tried to be Star Fox mixed with Ocarina of Time mixed with Dinossaur Planet but failed at being any of these. I never played that game, and I really ...

This right here is the reason I didn't even look further into the game to find all of the other issues that the rest of you are pointing out. I absolutely cannot stand this kind of thing. I actually sketched up a redesign for them out of boredom, addressing all of the issues I have with their looks...

Re: More Indie characters: Yea or Nay?

The only other guest character I really want is Banjo and Kazooie in the Xbox version or Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong in the Xbox version. Something went wrong here :P In case that ever happens I just hope that Microsoft allows Playtonic to use the old good Banjo design instead of... that other thing.

Re: Griff The Winged Lion "Kickstarter 3D Platformer"

Althrough I'm kinda tired of 3D platformer kickstarters trying to carry much more weight than they can, the graphics actually appeal me. They did a good job recreating the atmosphere for PS1. I was impressed there's even options for N64 and Dreamcast styles. The characters are fine. The gameplay see...

Re: More Indie characters: Yea or Nay?

Voted nay. I'm okay with an external character cameo, but if they keep putting them the game will turn into Super Meat Boy. Super Meat Boy was awesome, in fact it's my secon-third favorite game of all time! What was wrong with the characters in that game? I never said anything was wrong with that g...

The ones I played in my childhood: DK64 and DKC (gbc)

Yes, I prefer the gameboy color version even when playing on an emulator. Isn't that strange?

Other than that, DKC2, DKC3, DKR and DKTF are pretty good games too.

What would the point even be? There are a few cases where a game celebrate your birthday. Here's what you get when you play Kirby Squeak Squad on your birthday: http://i.imgur.com/UW1UZQH.png Of course, it has no other purpose than making you feel special, but I would love to get one of these in Yo...
