Re: Banjo-Kazooie is in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate!

You can play against your amiibo digital character and training with it. They learn from your moves and become very dificult to fight on later levels. Your amiibo will store that data so you can take it to a friends house. But they don't unlock charactes, when you buy the character you automaticall...

Re: NEW BANJO GAME AT E3???

As far as "Banjo in Smash" goes. As far as interest goes I'm about a 2/10. I really dont care, I want a new game that they star in, not an appearance in a game that came out last year. It would be a great tribute though. Just imagine: We'll see the duo in an updated design with top-notch ...

Don't wanna complain, the game looks good, but I was immediately asking myself about their DLC plans for the og game.

Re: DLC = Sequel Theory

i thought grant kirkhope was talking about mario + rabbids kingdom battle .. not a new game from playtonic.. https://youtu.be/ao8lUp8QHJs?t=1800 30 minutes into this livestream, Grant confirms he has finished his contribution to Playtonic's next game. Ouuh, that’s juicy! So that’s the first notable...

Re: Lessons Playtonic might learn from Yooka-Laylee...

(...) 1. A lot of the more common fan complaints (lack of variety in terms of gameplay challenges, copied and pasted enemies/NPCs, game doesn't have that "90's Rare" level of polish, etc.) were the result of constraints related to time/budget/personnel/Unity engine limitations, rather tha...

Yeah I don’t know why they’re using this wording when that tonic is 4+ months away. That’s not something big and exciting like a whole game or a DLC world after all...

Re: Nintendo's mixes of the DKC and DK64 games music in Smash Bros are horrrible

Smash is a fighting game first and foremost, so they often rearrange songs in a way to fit this theme. I agree that having the original DK64 tunes would've been great (like the original DK rap), but you can't tell me that the rearrangements of Crocodile Cacophony and Gangplank Galleon aren't amazing...

Re: Yooka-Laylee's first anniversary!

I agree with pretty much everything Piet said, just like him I'm a big fan whose hype, well, kinda deflated after all these waiting periods. Without judging the game at this point (I think we did that fairly enough) I share the same mindset that I want PG to really blow us away. At least considering...

"I've had this idea for a while," he begins. "I don't know if you remember this prototype that we did called Urchin at Rare? It was a dark fantasy game with a female protagonist. We started work on it shortly after Conker. But it got abandoned as we started on a new Perfect Dark. I a...

I don't know if those are read but I would like to cover some things that haven't been mentioned here (or not enough)... What a great first post & breakdown at these forums, Minuit! You absolutely nailed my feelings about other aspects I didn't even talk about. The book concept offered some rea...

Re: Lessons Playtonic might learn from Yooka-Laylee...

I have to leave this video here. It cements every issue I had with this game and why it sadly left me cold after one playthrough. I don't care much about the story or the secrets in this game because I didn't have the good time I was hoping to have. It's not the nostalgia I have for Banjo-Kazooie &a...

That’s really a developer that took the criticism for his game the right way. His very first glimpses were trashed/criticized with reason, but man did he improve since that!

Re: Playtonic's Next Game... Soon? (Speculation)

Intriguing. This is probably a bit forward of me to ask, but how lucrative has YL proven to be? Has it made Playtonic enough money for a huge, sprawling adventure as their second game? What counts as a huge sprawling adventure? As far as I know Yooka Laylee sold well enough for them to grow as a co...

Re: How many Kickstarter milestones are there left for Playtonic Games to complete?

Sorry but it's been too long now. If they are still working on small Kickstarter goals now then something is seriously wrong. It's taken as much time to create some extra content as it did to create the game in the first place. I hope they are working on something else I am done with yookalaylee. Y...

Anyone playing the Switch version of this game? I got my copy on release day and have been playing it quite a bit and enjoying it (mainly playing Warped as that was always my favourite game, and also playing a bit of the 2nd game). The hit-box for the time trial clock seems a lot smaller now though...

I just hope they limit the scope of their next problem as much as they need in order to develop a highly polished game that puts them on the map eventually.

(Oh shucks, I'm repeating myself in this thread. Uhm, I just hope there's a tease for the next thing soon).

Re: Yooka-Laylee on Switch through Limited Run Gammes

The Only thing I hate about this is the fact people were asking for a Physical release & playtonic were like we will see if the Demand is there & how well the Digital release goes. That is why I was holding off buying the Digital version & plus I have in physical form on Xbox One & ...
