Re: Yooka-Laylee on Switch - first impressions (by first-timers!)

Yeah Rextro's games weren't all that terrible, I would even say I had fun while playing them (and a second time to beat the highscore). The levels do feel empty in a way, although there's some beautiful atmosphere in many of them. The graphics and the music are really stunning if you think that this...

Re: Bugs & Glitches - Switch Edition

(Edit: Oh btw, I'm not trying to be negative or anything. This is just informational. The game is completely playable on the Switch.) Agree. There are some minor glitches that should be reported. Boss in world 3: During that phase in the fight where you have to hit the single big eye over the platf...

Re: Bugs & Glitches - Switch Edition

You're sure? On certain spots, the framerate was terrible when the game released on the other consoles. It feels like Playtonic put the necessary effort in the Switch version that really lacked on XBOX / PS.

Re: Bugs & Glitches - Switch Edition

At all or at launch? The version must be on par right now after all these patches. The Switch version runs smoother, regarding fps, than the updated X1 version (the one available now). :) Nice, so all credit goes to Playtonic in this case! I hope they'll develop further Switch ports in-house, too. ...

Yooka-Laylee on Switch - first impressions (by first-timers!)

Soo what do you guys think so far of the game? I started yesterday night and I must say that I'm overall very happy with what I've got. It runs very smooth, looks and sounds great (yes, I turned down the voices by 50%, but it's nice that way now)! Yes, it isn't as fastly rewarding and polished as a ...

Re: Bugs & Glitches - Switch Edition

All in all, it runs smoother than the X1 version (I also completed that version.) At all or at launch? The version must be on par right now after all these patches. One bug I encountered so far (additionally to Yooka once getting stuck between the landscape geometry... which is not a big issue, but...

Re: Mega Man 11 coming late 2018

I'm not a Mega Man fan at all (since I entered gaming with the N64), but I feel the excitement, too. It's been like, 7 years now since the latest entry? Even that one had some kind of pixelated artstyle, so not truly modern in its looks. This on the other hand looks like a proper modernisation AND a...

Re: What other world themes would you like to see?

I don't care as much for the theme if it’s visually pleasing and has a smart layout. But when I think about it, I prefer organic looking places and of course dark, gloomy areas.

rocho wrote:How would you guys feel if Playtonic jumped into unreal engine for the next game?

Seems to be working on all platforms by now.

I support this idea very strongly. Unreal seems to be the best fit from this point going forward. Or what about Snowbite? Mario+Rabbids used that one.

Re: FINALLY - Switch release date!!!

I really hope they'll do that! Yes, please. I don’t know much about digital distribution, but that doesn’t sound impossible either! Sounds very possible to me specially how YouTube channels like GameXplain that have bashed the game previously might end up getting a review copy a week before launch....

Re: FINALLY - Switch release date!!!

The only thing I would love now is to have my backer code the day PRE-DOWNLOAD starts that way I just have to download a bit of information on luanch day! But if as backers we could get a code like the ones given for review copies early... OH MY KING JINGALING that would be so awesome! I really hop...

Re: FINALLY - Switch release date!!!

I'm hoping that they learned from their mistakes, too. In the future, there's hopefully more polish, more evolutions on gameplay-formulas and less time wasted on fiddling with the engine. I wish that they'll earn enough (especially with the Switch release, since it really looks like they took the e...

Re: FINALLY - Switch release date!!!

Okay sorry Shan, gotta stop you here. Piet was nagging about the silence about the Switch release date, which was annoying and repetitive. I got his feeling about this (I didn't feel different), but these constant repetitions were very annoying. I don't think however that he was nagging for the sak...

You want me to talk(/nag) about other stuff? Are you 100% sure? Well there's always the fact that there's no physical version confirmed yet... :D Also I just read some comments on another Switch release date announcement article where someone called it " Yooka-Delaylee " - must admi...

Re: We Seem To Still Be Waiting

Now the real question is when can we expect to get the first DLC. We get the initial Switch version, but when do we get the Switch + first free DLC that backers paid for version? I assume that "major patch" is what was DLC for the other systems. But that's not DLC for Switch. That's like ...

Re: Yooka-Laylee 2

He asked for titles, I gave him titles. Of course he can have his own opinion(s), but all the games the I summed up are generaly known to be better than YL (go look up the critic review scores on Metacritic). + It's not only the resolution that makes a game 'more beautiful'. A turd with a pink bow ...

Re: We Seem To Still Be Waiting

What a timing for that thread: The game finally comes to the Switch on December 14th, contains an own achievement systems, the major patch, more optimization with the help of both Nintendo and Unity and will run with 900p in docked mode (and 600p in handheld mode, which wouldn’t matter, since Mario+...

Re: We Seem To Still Be Waiting

They should give another evidence that they’re still on it. I don’t doubt their explanation with the Unity issues, but it doesn’t help against the bad feelings we have when it’s yet another few months after the latest update. I want this to end, too.
