Re: Yooka-Laylee's first anniversary!

I agree with pretty much everything Piet said, just like him I'm a big fan whose hype, well, kinda deflated after all these waiting periods. Without judging the game at this point (I think we did that fairly enough) I share the same mindset that I want PG to really blow us away. At least considering...

Re: Spiritual Successor To Conker's Bad Fur Day

"I've had this idea for a while," he begins. "I don't know if you remember this prototype that we did called Urchin at Rare? It was a dark fantasy game with a female protagonist. We started work on it shortly after Conker. But it got abandoned as we started on a new Perfect Dark. I a...

I don't know if those are read but I would like to cover some things that haven't been mentioned here (or not enough)... What a great first post & breakdown at these forums, Minuit! You absolutely nailed my feelings about other aspects I didn't even talk about. The book concept offered some rea...

Re: Lessons Playtonic might learn from Yooka-Laylee...

I have to leave this video here. It cements every issue I had with this game and why it sadly left me cold after one playthrough. I don't care much about the story or the secrets in this game because I didn't have the good time I was hoping to have. It's not the nostalgia I have for Banjo-Kazooie &a...

Re: Clive N' Wrench Get A Makeover

That’s really a developer that took the criticism for his game the right way. His very first glimpses were trashed/criticized with reason, but man did he improve since that!

Re: Playtonic's Next Game... Soon? (Speculation)

Intriguing. This is probably a bit forward of me to ask, but how lucrative has YL proven to be? Has it made Playtonic enough money for a huge, sprawling adventure as their second game? What counts as a huge sprawling adventure? As far as I know Yooka Laylee sold well enough for them to grow as a co...

That'd be rad indeed. I just want to get excited again, be it DLC or a new game.

Re: How many Kickstarter milestones are there left for Playtonic Games to complete?

Sorry but it's been too long now. If they are still working on small Kickstarter goals now then something is seriously wrong. It's taken as much time to create some extra content as it did to create the game in the first place. I hope they are working on something else I am done with yookalaylee. Y...

They shared Brawlouts tweets about this feature, but I think nothing beyond that.

Re: Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy

Anyone playing the Switch version of this game? I got my copy on release day and have been playing it quite a bit and enjoying it (mainly playing Warped as that was always my favourite game, and also playing a bit of the 2nd game). The hit-box for the time trial clock seems a lot smaller now though...

Re: Playtonic's Next Move

I just hope they limit the scope of their next problem as much as they need in order to develop a highly polished game that puts them on the map eventually.

(Oh shucks, I'm repeating myself in this thread. Uhm, I just hope there's a tease for the next thing soon).

Re: Yooka-Laylee on Switch through Limited Run Gammes

The Only thing I hate about this is the fact people were asking for a Physical release & playtonic were like we will see if the Demand is there & how well the Digital release goes. That is why I was holding off buying the Digital version & plus I have in physical form on Xbox One & ...

Re: Yooka-Laylee Guest-Starring in "Brawlout" (New Fighting Game)

Its lookin good. I might just get it for Yooka and Laylee. Even if its not as good as Smash, it still looks like a nice game. I just wish it had a single player campaign It apparently has one with some written dialogue. Of course, get it if it has the right value for you. For me, I'd rather save th...

Re: Yooka-Laylee Guest-Starring in "Brawlout" (New Fighting Game)

Interesting how it looks like they got ripped directly out of the original game and put into Brawlout. Heck, in the first seconds I thought they just put an animation .GIF of some Kickstarter update into the trailer. It's nice that they get featured, but being a big Smash fan, I know where I'll put ...

Re: Physical Nintendo Switch release by Limited Run Games!

Yeah, these physical Switch copies will certainly not spread as well when they're not getting produced for normal retailers as well. GameStop, Amazon, you name it. It can only be connected to some complications since Switch game cards are a different and more rarely produced medium (compared to Sony...

Re: Almost 6 months after the Switch version release...

I could be wrong and Playtonic actually do turn the game low-poly (though I doubt it as surely that would take a lot of time and then wouldn't they have to re-test for bugs?), but I'm thinking that Playtonic might have set themselves up for a lot of whinging in future by people who expected the gam...

Re: Playtonic have saved platform game to me

That's not true in the slightest... Super Mario Odyssey has been in production for years + it follows the same formula as SM64 and SMS, so nothing new for Nintendo. True that. Odyssey was in development right after Super Mario 3D World (2013; two years before the Kickstarter for Yooka-Laylee). I th...

Re: Physical Nintendo Switch release by Limited Run Games!

Way more than a month, I think... It's been over 2 months since they said soon. Im beginning to feel a very strong disliking (i won't say hate yet) towards playtonics use of the word soon. It's pretty much a lie. Agree. Their wording in the latest update definitely suggested that there’s “several n...
