Re: POLL: Playtonic Kart Racer + Online Multiplayer

I may be a minority, but I really don't care about a YL kart racer. I didn't feel all that much of a connection to YL's cast, and so right now I don't see what a YL racer could offer that Mario Kart doesn't have. I don't want to just assume that a Playtonic racer will automatically be as good as DK...

Re: Funding the Next Game

I'm undecided. Mostly I wish them to be able to fund the next game themselves, just to get rid of any obligations towards potential backers. They should keep quiet if they want to and take all the time they need to polish it up. And then release the game day one on all platforms, now that they're ge...

Re: Playtonic: What we Want to Hear About

True, the Switch version is still very feasible from a financial standpoint, fully without any Kickstarter obligations. They won't cancel this one.

Re: Playtonic: What we Want to Hear About

The only reasons for the delay of the Switch version is the previous focus on the Wii U and the short-term start of the development of the Switch version. I'm 100% certain they'd release the game on it day one if the Switch was out for a year already / Nintendo gave them the dev kits much earlier.

This was reconfirmed on Twitter. I don't have the exact source right now (Andy probably commented on this), but they still plan to release both things as part of a free update.

Re: Playtonic: What we Want to Hear About

The wait is really, really ugly for Nintendo fans now. I was initially excited about the Day One release promise, but didn't work out obviously. I intended to not spoil myself too much about the game, but just by watching reviews, I know the theme of every world so far. Not that there's no true reas...

Re: Y-L ... disappointment

 Playtonic, I hope you read this and I hope you pay attention. When I was young, the very first 64 game I got was Banjo-Kazooie. Let me say, I played that game until I got everything in it. I loved it and throughout the years I have been revisiting it occasionally. It is still one of my favor...

Re: My in-depth "review"/analysis of Yooka-Laylee

I think if there is anything to be upset by with Playtonic, it is the fact that they released the game several months too soon. I think they were too afraid of postponing the game again, and figured a "sort of playable" game now was better than an "amazing and perfectly playable"...

Re: "Spit 'n' Polish" website update (improvements coming, Switch version definitive version?)

Haha well half of the thread is a discussion between the both of us, so it's no wonder. Anyway, I guess the patch is good enough to wipe out many negative points and raise the rating of the game, if the video game journalists care about doing that.

Soo, are there any impression on this patch, now that it's released on PC? Like, how much does it improve the experience?

Re: Grant Kirkhope's First Game on Switch

I'm not interested in Rabbids and I don't think I've ever been, but the sheer fact that Grant made the music makes me want to try it out. Damn you Nintendo/Ubisoft, tricking me into buying your games! Well there hasn't been a Rabbids game with the gameplay you've seen in this one. The tactical game...

Re: Grant's Secret Project ... [link]

It's hard to imagine someone in Grant's position could ever post something like that and NOT think "Everyone's immediate reaction is going to be Banjo Kazooie". I refuse to believe he doesn't know exactly what he's doing. I don't think he's working on Banjo music, but I absolutely believe...

Sure. Whatever you say. I think this argument has become moot quite a while ago. You complained that Playtonic should be faster with their updates and then talk about some other newsletter instead. Whatever am I supposed to say here? Gotta side with you guys. Promotion has to be thought out in orde...

Mario Oddysee
A Hat in Time
Lobodestroyo

... and recent additions:

Mario + Rabbids
Rocket League Switch
Pokémon RPG in Switch
Metroid Prime 4

and that new Mario game. And I want it now.

Hey I know all that. In fact, I've been saying the exact things you said right now: That we know nothing & should play it ourselves. I know that they don't make us wait for no reason, but you know, as much logic as one can utilize to understand this situation... The wait still sucks. About being...

It's bugging me so much by now. I know they're probably hard at work to get this done, but man. I really hope that they'll have the big update incorporated in the Switch release. I watched so many reviews by now (and saw some spoilers by now), but I don't care that much anymore. The excitement vanis...

Re: Y-L ... disappointment

Of course the story is stupid. It's a spiritual successor to a game where the story is about an ugly witch -who is SOMEHOW the world's second greatest beauty-, kidnapping the number one beauty (an little girl bear, hairy chest and all) to swap attractiveness with her via an Attractiveness Swapping ...
