Re: Yooka-Laylee's first anniversary!

Aww, I just loaded World 5 on the Switch and spoke to the secret robot in the hope that the percentage might have changed from 75% to 100%, but no luck (more info here for anyone wondering what this is about http://forums.playtonicgames.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5452 ). I thought it might ...

Re: Will it be released physical on the Switch?

If it’s available on a service like gog, I’ll buy digital as I own the exe. However if it’s a service where they decide to stop it... no, I want physical. Unless of course it’s under 10 quid, then I can justify the purchase, but I’m not sinking 35 quid for a game I don’t own, I’m just renting it fo...

Re: Will it be released physical on the Switch?

I understand, I'd prefer a physical copy too for my game collection, so fingers crossed for the future! Although I was disappointed there was no physical copy, having the digital version of Yooka-Laylee on my Switch has been surprisingly good because if I get sick of playing whichever physical game ...

Re: 3D Platforming Game: Snake Pass

For any fellow Australians interested in getting Snake Pass, it's currently on sale for half price in the Australian Nintendo eShop, until April 10th. Because I already bought the game months ago, the Nintendo eShop won't show me what the current price is (because it says "Purchased" where...

Re: Will it be released physical on the Switch?

Not sure, Playtonic have said they would like to do a physical copy, but they weren't able to at the time the Switch version released.

Hopefully there'll be a physical release one day in the future.

Re: A little story about why I love Yooka-Laylee

Hi, welcome to the forum! :) Unfortunately they've been a bit quiet lately, but hopefully they'll pick up again when (if?) the Yooka-Laylee DLC comes out. I'm glad you've been able to find joy playing games again thanks to Yooka-Laylee! I was also really disappointed when all my beloved Banjo-Kazooi...

Re: Secret Pirate Treasure (possible spoilers)

But I also did notice there is the same looking skull and bones splayed out on the ground in one spot in each level that looked suspicious - especially the one in the little wall alcove in the tower leading up to Rampo in Tribalstack Tropics - so I wonder if they will have something to do with the ...

Hey long time, no post - welcome back Yavga! :D Add some mystery to the worldbuilding, to keep me thinking and looking around for things that may not be apparent at first sight, something in the landscape itself perhaps? A prop that is different? A character that can be interacted with in a special ...

Re: Lessons Playtonic might learn from Yooka-Laylee...

I sadly don't have any good screenshots of the original Gloomy Gem Grotto, but here's one of the World 5 golf course. What you can notice from this screenshot is the lack of walls along the edges of the course. I haven't played the newer, easier version of this course myself, so I'm not sure what, ...

5. Some collectibles being difficult is a good thing Building the game such that someone can complete it without a lot trouble is fine. However for those want to 100% it, there SHOULD be difficult collectibles and challenges. I hated to see the patch that nerfed some of the very few difficult areas...

Re: What other world themes would you like to see?

What about a farm level? That would give a number of areas to explore: the farmer's house, the barn, the chicken coop, the pig pen, the different paddocks, the tractor etc. And with the range of animals in the level, imagine all the interesting problems they could have for Yooka and Laylee to solve....

Re: Lessons Playtonic might learn from Yooka-Laylee...

So as I was playing Yooka-Laylee, I made a mental list of things I wished were different to improve the (already great!) game. And as that list grew, I decided to type it down in a text file, which I added to as I thought of more (and which I'll probably continue adding to when I replay the game). S...

Re: Yooka-Laylee Collector’s Boxie

Thanks for letting us know about the update, Tek. Can't say I'm surprised, but it's still disappointing as the statue looked nice. I hope everyone is able to get a refund! Poor Playtonic haven't had much luck with their merch licenses! The Bryt Socks people who made those Yooka-Laylee socks a while ...

Re: Tooka-Laylee story ideas

One of the things that I felt were somewhat lacking in Yooka-Laylee was a sense of investment in defeating Capital B I feel that the game failed to properly set up what was at stake should the duo fail to Stop Capital B from acquiring all the pagies. Sure, they mention what could happen but we neve...

Re: Yooka-Laylee Collector’s Boxie

Still no more news about this, unfortunately. If anyone here pre-odered this and paid with Paypal, you still have a bit of time to lodge a Paypal dispute to get your money back. I did that a few weeks ago and Paypal ruled in my favour (not surprising, when the seller didn't reply at all) so I got my...

Re: Yooka-Laylee on Switch - first impressions (by first-timers!)

Also I keep coming across the name "Penny" in the game (graffiti on the rafters of Yooka-Laylee's ship, the green letters in Hivory Towers spelling it out, the high score name in Rextro's arcade machines), so I wonder if this has some significance to the story that I'll find out later, or...

Re: Yooka-Laylee on Switch - first impressions (by first-timers!)

If you like the music of Moodymaze Marsh, just WAIT for world 5. That music blew me away. You were so right, the music in this world is amazing! :D The main theme is great on its own, but then I love the pirate variation when you go sailing around. And the music for both Rextro's arcade game, and t...
