Re: Where is the love?

It's obvious you really love A Hat In Time. It should be equally obvious to you that I dislike it for numerous reasons. We each have people who agree with us. You have failed to convince me why I should love it too, and for the foreseeable future you will be unable to convince me. Nagging people to...

Re: Where is the love?

1# http://i.imgur.com/vfe3L4Y.png Well... actually, it IS in the spirit of N64 titles. After all, that was the system with the most 3D-platformers that were built on exploration. Nothing wrong here. 2# http://i.imgur.com/131ngrL.png Great! So by your logic, other indie games ride the coat tail of B-...

Re: Where is the love?

You didn't understand it & I tried to explain it to you. They never tried to mimic B-K! That's the whole point you missed. Simple question: Show me how they based their marketing on B-K. Original quotes. Because I have the strong feeling that you're overreacting and totally misunderstood what th...

Re: Where is the love?

I think the criticism can still be seen as support. Support does not necessarily have to always be in the form of compliments. Actually, I think criticism may be better support than compliments. Compliments are good for showing what has been done right, criticism is good for showing what needs to b...

Re: Where is the love?

Thank you for this thread, Luigi! I must say that I'm really confused about how Indies are treated here in this forum. I thought people would embrace it that some developers try to bring the genre back - whether their games are more or less close to the Rareware IPs. Saying that these indie projects...

Re: Re imagining BK worlds in PU

Yep, it would take too much development time that could be used for something else. But (as said in some different thread) I'd love to see some nods to B-K/B-T that indicate a connection between these games in the same universe.

Re: Low Polygon Graphics Option

I would like it! In a funny-nostalgic way of course. But I wonder how much work would be put into this. Weren't all the objects & characters on the N64 designed to look good with low polygons? Maybe they'd need to put some extra work in Ukulele's models for this low-poly mode. But I don't know, ...

Re: A new 3D platformer kickstarter: FreezeME

Except their whole advertising platform was "fans of Banjo Kazooie come buy us because nostalgia!" Couldn't stand it. This. I have nothing against the developers, I'm sure they put a lot of time into it, but the game should be able to stand on it's own without solely relying on it's spiri...

Re: A new 3D platformer kickstarter: FreezeME

It didn't remotely interest me. Especially after all of the " Look how similar to Banjo Kazooie we are! " stuff. And then when I watched their video it's nothing like Banjo Kazooie. They're just trying to ride on the success of others. You really got stuck to that comparison, don't you? I...

Actually, I loved this in B-K. Running / gliding with Kazooie only felt great! I wouldn't mind if they implemented it. I liked it!

Re: MAKE SURE PLAYTONIC GAMES RUN AT 1080P@60FPS

Of course it is and I would as well. But in the platforming genre, it is one of the crucial things to have a character that controls great. And having super-smooth 60fps just contributes to that feeling of absolute control, while you wouldn't need to have 1080p for any gameplay-related reason.

Re: MAKE SURE PLAYTONIC GAMES RUN AT 1080P@60FPS

Well , there's a thread concerning 60fps . I guess its more likely (and important) to have 60fps as the higher priority. Cartoony games still look great at 720p, just look at Super Mario 3D World. Of course, if they want to optimize it further (for consoles like the PS4 or Xbox One), they'd need mo...

Nice thinking! I would love such a level!

Re: Clive N' Wrench needs help, FAST!

Yeah, I wasn't that convinced by the project, either. While its nice to see a lot of people trying to revive the genre, there was something about this project that I didn't like. Maybe its the characters, an obvious B-K rip-off? Or the art style? I don't know.

Wat.

I think JonTron spoke for many RareWARE fans in his video. Plus he's exaggerating partly because he's doing some kind of comedy, after all.

Re: JonTron in Project Ukelele

This thread draws in too many naysayers. I'd guess that they'll slip in his voice in some simple character while nobody notices & knows, until further research or analysis. So no big deal. This is exact the most unnecessary topic to get vocal about, seriously. First world problems, or should I s...

Re: JonTron in Project Ukelele

He hasn't been confirmed as such, but Playtonic and Jon did have a brief Twitter exchange about the topic. Nothing's set in stone. I mean, I wouldn't be actively opposed to it. I just thing that Playtonic should hire real Voice Actors. Unless he has a super bit-part or something. None of the classi...

Re: Wii U GamePad

I'd be fine with off-tv play & moving HUD symbols to the gamepad. But please, NO MAPS! And not only not on the gamepad, but nowhere! Maybe there should be a separate thread for this. A map will somehow destroy the exploration aspect of the game. You should discover the worlds with your very eyes...

Re: 60 fps

Wii U will handle it just fine - just look at how amazing all the cartoony games look! In my opinion, 60fps is MUCH more important than 1080p. Seriously. You won't see that much of a difference in such a game, while a smooth gameplay is a must & most essential in a platformer.
