Re: Easter Egg in Capital B

This is the sort of poetic observation a fan may make, but the creator probably never thought about. And that's how it should be, interpretation is part of art. Anyways, now that you point it out, I can see it...though the S is obviously pretty dependent on Capital B being at the particular angle in...

Re: Yooka-Laylee Soundtrack Sneak-peak?

Here's the track list: https://twitter.com/yookalayleehub/status/818852581409701888 Are "Temple Theme" and "Village Theme" channel fades for Tribalstack Tropics? Glitergaze Glacier also had an igloo village "Challenge Theme" could be "Jungle Challenge" from th...

Re: Capital Ca$hino!

Agreed, it will be interesting to see how this fits into the story of the game. The "ghost writers" are supposed to be the original authors of the worlds ... Captial Cashino, as we see here, is clearly the work of Captial B! Yet the presence of quills makes me think it's still a book. What...

Re: If the Switch Version Comes Later...

Really, venting ones frustratations on an online forum may not be the worst idea. However "Playtonic are incompetent and untrustworthy" seems a generalization based on very little information. "Real but not true" is a useful distinction. To feel everything Playtonic has gone sour...

Re: Grant's Secret Project ... [link]

Grant composing for Mario is enough to make me interested. (And I'm really curious how this collaboration came to be ... including Grant at least hints at a development environment open to interesting ideas.) The Rabbids remains unappealing for me, and were it not for this project, I would've prefer...

Re: Expand or move on?

When playing Tropical Freeze I recall finding Windmill Hills particularly enjoyable, and it was really nice to return to it on/off throughout my playthrough as I carefully balanced progressing through the game with polishing off earlier worlds. Upon finally besting Lord Fredrik, I had a sense that I...

Re: Yooka-Laylee Soundtrack Sneak-peak?

So far we've heard: (with much room for creativity in naming the themes) 1. Tribal Stack Tropics world themes (4 channel fades) 2. a Kirkhope boss theme (I think it fits Rampo) 3. Hivory Towers hub theme 4. Main Theme (character parade, live ukulele versions) 5. Capital Cashino World Theme 6. Jungle...

Re: Capital Ca$hino!

First thing I thought of was the hotel area in Mario Sunshine.

Love that the casino floor has its own rules for obtaining pagies, while nightlife and staff only areas allow for very different sorts of adventures. This will feel very different from Tribalstack Tropics. Just super!

Re: Making the Switch

Technical issues causing delay or cancellation certainly do happen. What is incredibly unfortunate when this sort of thing happens with a Kickstarter project where so many of the core fans/backers are impacted. It's perfectly human to feel a sense of anger or of having been "lied to" but d...

Re: Amazon Germany lists March 14th release date

Not sure how plausible a delay to December 2017 sounds. Interviews have all made it sound like they're firmly in the tweaking and polishing stage. While there's always *some* advantages to delaying a game, I feel doubtful YL would need to to spend well over a year in its (presumed) present developme...

Re: Audio Channel Fading

Watching him play and get almost everything wrong was painful. I guess a lot of platforming elements I understand and take for granted are not as intuitive as I thought? And yet he happened upon Nimbo, froze the river, and discovered Rampo's secret treasure and essentially won the demo. It's like o...

Re: Audio Channel Fading

I just can't imagine it being on the temple we already saw. Or does it play inside? It plays outside the temple. Go to 03:00:20 in this stream to hear it: https://www.twitch.tv/twitch/v/91292413 You can definitely hear the calm music here. They just threw in the channel fade for the demo, I bet. Th...

Re: Audio Channel Fading

Here's the IGN video, even though the underwater version in the video above isn't included in this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ii2RjlW4oXc The harp and slow sounding variation in this video is for the big temple in the middle of Tribalstack Tropics. I heard this when Yooka-Laylee was being...

That is really good to point out - how the drop shadow and ground-pound move are used in tandem by more seasoned platforming fans.

Generally agree with your feedback here!

Re: Audio Channel Fading

Interesting. I went back to check out the Banjo channel fades and there is a charm to how they keep the same tempo. However my reaction to this channel fade clip has been extremely positive ... it's just *very interesting* to listen to, seems to fit the feeling of whats on screen really well ...ther...

Re: Kewpie-Jazzy, a Yooka-Laylee inspired Kickstarter game.

Personally I considering A Hat in Time and (particularly!!) Yooka-Laylee to be completely on-track and first rate, hype levels maximum. Lobodestoyo is a more deserving second-tier project. Not sure if Kewpie has much redeeming going for it but here's a brief list: - A member of our forum-community i...

Re: Grant's Secret Project ... [link]

Whatever it is, Grant's clearly excited about it. Certainly having with his reply to Taylor... and seeminly hasn't ruled out Banjo. Definite vibes of a known IP with "you wouldn't believe." What if he's collaborating on whatever David Wise's project is. - If Nintendo does any sort of resea...

Re: A Reminder About the Delay

High quality, polished games are the standard they've set for themselves. Many of the animations we've seen look great but clearly 'in progress' with some movements also looking to be unfinished or absent. But I'm really not at all worried about the animation/visuals. I do imagine that perfect perfo...
