Playtonic dropping easter eggs early? Switch!

Reddit got the scoop, but check it out!

That kind of resembles the Switch logo right?

Top comment in the thread nails it.

It's not even the same logo. The switch is like [° o] and the image in Yooka Laylee is actually [° o °]. With the right half shaded. If anything it's an easter egg for... a face.

I see a face eating some balls.

;)

I can sort of see the Switch logo, but think it's a pure coincidence. However, with that said, I think Playtonic would be bloody stupid not to release on Switch as soon as possible, considering how the dates match up and the amount of fan interest there is. There is a huge market for them that they could be missing out on.*

*Though I admit I don't know much about the complications of releasing on a new system.

The problem is, I'm pretty sure that pattern had been seen in earlier gameplay trailer from before Switch was announced.
Woaaaah, it finally came out! :o

What if the secrets of the world are hidden away within homely realms of indie dev design.

Nope, it's nothing more than an ordinary symbol. Better luck next time.

I can see the resemblance, but it's undoubtedly a coincidence.

I don't think there's any chance of it even being an easter egg, let alone some sort of hint at a Switch port (especially seeing as how they've given an emphatic "No" when asked in the past about one. And believe me, even back when it was called the NX, it was one of the most frequent questions in interviews).

I'm not seeing it. Not sure why they would do that.
