People were angry because they saw it as unneeded censorship. Everyone has different values.

Hint: It's the ones crying about a racist's removal from the game on Facebook.

Facebook? So you're friends with them? You should probably block them and exclude them from your whole life, they're just heathens with the wrong opinions.

You don't need to be friends with people in order to see their comments on Playtonic's page, or Rare's page, or Rare/Playtonic fan pages.

Well, that's sorta something that isn't just thrown in your face. If you want to see what people think, be prepared to see what people think.

Bringing this one back to ask: how has YK sold so far, do we have data?

According to SteamSpy, close to 100K on Steam alone.

That's a good start, all things considered.
Does it include sales which were eventually refunded as well? Because there was a brief phase where people deliberately bought then asked for a refund on Steam due to a loophole where the developer would have to brunt the cost (or something to that effect).

Bumping this back up to ask:

With the Switch version finally arriving in just under a fortnight's time, how has the game done so far?

Is the company's future secure?

I'm not sure about the sales but I'm pretty sure Playtonic was willing to go ahead with the game even if the kickstarter failed (it may have turned out smaller and take longer though), hence why they went with the Unity engine. Even if the game wasn't a huge bestseller I seriously doubt it bombed or prejudiced the company, plus we now know they are in good terms with Nintendo and unity's company and the people behind it seem to really love making games so I have no doubt they'll keep moving forward.

You're probably right.

This also means they have two avenues to explore to help with future projects: Nintendo and Unity.
