The music is so damn good

I love Grant Kirkhope and I think this is his best work to date.

That is all. Discuss.

I felt his Banjo work was better. YL's music isn't worse in itself, but I miss environmental noises and you had a lot more variantions of a level's theme in the Banjo series than you do here.

I do agree that Grant Kirkhope and David Wise are perhaps the best video game music composers ever. The music of my childhood - and by extension, current adulthood - was very much what they wrote.

I am still of the opinion that BK and BT have better music than Yooka-Laylee, however. I understand Grant wanted to push himself, and I think it did it fairly well with tracks like Galleon Galaxy. Yet, I think the whimsy of BK and BT are ultimately superior.

I do have to say that the main theme of Hivory Towers is absolutely great, and I'm immensely disappointed when I leave that first room of it because I then have to listen to the much less whimsical versions

Bring back the whimsy!

I was a little disappointed to be honest. The music was fantastic, I'm not saying it was bad at all but it lacked that whimsical magical feel that banjo kazooie had. When you played BK and BT you felt like the music itself was its own character playing into the theme that everything in the world of BK was alive and it's own character.

The music in Yooka Laylee was more cinematic and ambient, not a bad change, but not exactly what I was expecting for spiritual successor to banjo-kazooie

I would say tribalstack tropics and hivory towers are something of an exception though

Hivory Towers is a masterpiece.

Grant Kirkhope and David Wise get all the attention for this game, but I feel like Steve Burke's tracks are also really good yet seem to go unnoticed.

Also, I've said it before and I'll say it again, Hivory Towers is almost as awesome and as catchy as Gruntilda's Lair, it's probably my favorite track from the game!

I just added Glitterglaze Glacier + variants + Frosty Fray to my 2017 christmas mix. :D I'm loving all of them!
