I really like the design of the statue. It's vibrant and depicts the characters really well. The cards don't really interest me but the key chain and pins are a nice bonus. I'm seriously considering buying one...

So beautiful !

I'd prefer to buy an amiibo though, smaller but a lot less expansive.
I'm undecided, do you think they'll release an amiibo later (yeah I know they need to release the game on switch first)?
How long before this one gets sold out ?

I'm not really into amiibos so I wouldn't know, but even if they do come out they are likely to be around for much longer and in higuer quantities, so personally I think this little statue is a better deal while it's available.

You know, now I'm wondering if the Switch version is taking so long because they are making amiibos to be released with it. But I wouldn't get my hopes up.

I really want to buy it!

Been trying already but the item can't be shipped to P.O. Boxes. At least the ones that need to have numbers on the name of the person information. Not all the fanbase is located in the US.

I know there is an option to send it directly to your country but the national post office in mine is not that good compared to the private curriers.

Wish they could open the option tho.

Playtonic have released a statement about the lack of response from the company (supposedly) making these collector boxes:

From https://www.playtonicgames.com/statement-yooka-laylee-collector-boxie/

Dear Yooka Laylee Community,

We’ve been made aware that Project Triforce is no longer responding to customer requests about the availability or shipping of the Yooka-Laylee Collector Boxie. Please understand that our relationship with Project Triforce is strictly a Licensor / Licensee arrangement, but we are extremely dismayed in Project Triforce’s lack of responsiveness to those who have pre-ordered in good faith from its website.

We have made contact with Project Triforce but it has so far yet to supply any update or information on when the Yooka-Laylee Collector Boxie is shipping. We are chasing repeatedly to find out when it will make this available. We’re aiming to provide an update at the end of December or in the first week of the New Year.

A brief update from Twitter about Project Triforce's lack of response:

Still no more news about this, unfortunately.

If anyone here pre-odered this and paid with Paypal, you still have a bit of time to lodge a Paypal dispute to get your money back. I did that a few weeks ago and Paypal ruled in my favour (not surprising, when the seller didn't reply at all) so I got my money back a few days ago.

It looks like Playtonic has updated their statement about this.

https://twitter.com/PlaytonicGames/stat ... 5212663808

"We’d like to provide a final update on the Yooka-Laylee Collector Boxie.

Despite our best efforts in communicating with Project Triforce to try and secure a solution, the company has now verbally confirmed that it will be unable to honour its obligation to deliver the statue to customers as per the Licencing Agreement Playtonic has with it.

We’re extremely disappointed in this outcome and we would advise those who have pre-ordered from Project Triforce to contact their payment merchants. We have requested that Project Triforce remove all Yooka-Laylee branding from its social feeds and website and recommend not to pre-order the Yooka-Laylee Collector Boxie from its website at this present time."

Thanks for letting us know about the update, Tek.

Can't say I'm surprised, but it's still disappointing as the statue looked nice. I hope everyone is able to get a refund!

Poor Playtonic haven't had much luck with their merch licenses! The Bryt Socks people who made those Yooka-Laylee socks a while ago were also dodgy and didn't send a lot of people their socks after taking money, judging by all the complaints on the Bryt Socks Kickstarter and Facebook pages.

Playtonic, can you please work with Nintendo to make that statue an amiibo instead? ;)

For anyone wondering, I was able to get a refund from Paypal by opening a case, and then escalating it a week later to claim. Seems that PayPal recognizes the situation with TriForce, it's a darn shame because the boxie seemed so cool :(
