Games completed in one sitting

Postby Salty Joe » Mon Jun 29, 2015 9:52 am

Any of you guys ever completed a video game in one sitting? If so which ones?

I would consider doing it with Banjo-Kazooie at some point in the future, but I think I would have to be getting paid to do it for charity or something for it to be worth my while...which is incredibly unlikely

If I did it I could record a commentary and upload the entire thing to YouTube.

Not sure if it's a good idea or not...! I'm not a speedrunner and the last playthrough of the game took around 9 hours.

Anyway, what games have you completed in one sitting?

I've never completed a game in one sitting.
Other than like those old NES Marios which required it.
Or unless you count racing all 16-48 courses in one go in one of the Mario Karts I have.

And Star Fox 64 since someone below mentioned it.
And suddenly I remember New Super Mario Bros. that I've done through multiple times.

I usually can't play more than 1 hour, maybe 2 at max, or I have to be VERY into a new game to play more than that. I watched a bit of Zeldathon last week and I can't understand how they can finish a 8-9 hours Zelda game in one sitting, it's insane...

If I really force myself, Banjo-Kazooie would probably be the only game I could finish in one sitting, but not 100%, I would have to pass a couple of annoying jiggies.

Plenty of times. Banjo Kazooie being one I've done several times. To The Moon was a good one, totally doable in one sitting. Dishonored can be done in one go if you're okay sitting for like 9 hours.

Cool. I'm strongly considering playing the whole of Banjo-Kazooie in one go with a friend, and uploading it with commentary to the internet for the world to see. If any of you would be interested in watching all (or some) of that, let me know so I can gauge interest. With enough interest I may even make it a live stream. Saying that I have no idea how many people would want to watch something like that yet.

I think the only games I ever finished in one sitting were Portal and Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty.
Portal just drew me in completly and Ratchet and Clank was just SO incredibly short. O.o I got it for free a few year back, seeing that it's still around 50 bucks these days makes me glad I didn't spend that much money on a game that short.

Usually I try to take my time with games so that I can enjoy them for as long as possible, so I don't think it's very likely that there are many games that will make me finish them in one sitting.

I think I beat Stanley Parable in one sitting... I thought the game was awesome, and so I went online to look up any of the endings I missed. Sadly I already had them all! (Except for one that requires you to write a button mashing script to tap a button for 2 hours... I wasn't that dedicated. XD)

After going to NG+ 5 on Dark Souls 2 it's fairly easy to clear the game on a single sitting, (No grinding, You know most places, Have good equipment)

Not sure if NG+'s count as clearing a game.
They told me i couldn't play games because of my claws. Q,Q

I played VVVVVV in one sitting. It's not long at all though. Does Binding of Isaac count? All mine are super short. I have wanted to do a whole day Marathon of banjo-kazooie and other games but never got to it

Banjo Kazooie, Luigi's Mansion, Resident Evil remake, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil Revelations, Super Mario Bros 3, and Super Mario 64 DS. I believe that's all of them, hard to remember really.
Yooka-Laylee should be its own game with its own feeling. It shouldn't try to be like Banjo-Kazooie, it shouldn't try to be like Donkey Kong, it should be like Yooka-Laylee.
