I actually sketched up a redesign for them out of boredom, addressing all of the issues I have with their looks. I'd love to share it here but I'm not sure if I should in case the developers might be eyeing on this thread and may steal my design rather than creating their own. :?

If they did such thing everybody would know it. I mean, it's not only the developers that can see this thread, this is a public forum.

So there's nothing to be afraid of I guess.

Personally I considering A Hat in Time and (particularly!!) Yooka-Laylee to be completely on-track and first rate, hype levels maximum.
Lobodestoyo is a more deserving second-tier project.

Not sure if Kewpie has much redeeming going for it but here's a brief list:

- A member of our forum-community is composing for it
- Switching partners is a nice idea
- Despite appearing somewhat of a copycat, the developer does have it's own style and maybe a unique perspective on collections as member of a non-native English speaking culture and an apparent avid Sonic fan...

That's about it! Not sure it's enough! My biggest turn off is this image, a Timon-like character that makes me feel strangely depressed. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CtTeUCBW8AAuA9U.jpg

I have asked them on Twitter if they still will be working on the game. The Kickstarter failed, and I want to know if I get my music back, or if they want to try another crowdfunding platform. (I am their composer at the moment)

The problem is, that they seem to have started working on something completely different. They released a trailer for ANOTHER Kickstarter-funded game today. Here's the trailer for their new game https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwWM3_ft8EU

They probably can't do two games at once, so my guess is that Kewpie is cancelled. Now I have to find new game developers that need some music..

Trailer looked okay.
Until I saw "yea"

BTW there's plenty of fish in the sea, Rassy. There'd be lots of fresh young talent searching for as many contributions as they can to make their art the best it can be. Not just games, either, but movies and stories and all that.
Keep looking! Good luck!

EDIT: Hang on, it looks like they're now accepting funds for Kewpie with Paypal.

^Isn't that a valid way to spell it? Granted the way they wrote it out makes it look strange but...

But the biggest thing about the trailer to me is that it's just straight-up Spore.

The new project seems overly ambitious. Specifically the "thousands of planets that are all explorable" promise.

I don't really see such a small, inexperienced studio being able to pull off something like that.

Clearly no passion involved. This team is trying to make a lot of money quickly and easily.

"Kewpie-Jazzy" is such a bad copy of Yooka-Laylee that it's laughable; they even have an area mimicking Shipwreck Creek and the cave shown during the Kickstarter. And the meerkat model looks like a terrible Timone from the Lion King -- possibly edited models they found on the internet.

The new trailer, bizarrely of a totally different game (another major red flag), is copying Spore and No Man's Sky, really quite blatantly.

A complete scam. No doubt about it.

HAHAHAHAHA, they're stealing from Spore right now. I had to laugh really hard just now. I mean, Spore failed in the end because Professional developers abandoned the game after the first release

"Because they could never really realise the scope of each individual stage to its full potential, the project was too ambitious" Link to discussion

Those were professional developers, what do these rookies think they can do better? Lol.

Game was complete despite failed Kickstarter asking for €92,000.

It is called Fur Fun with 4-player co-op.

It still says 'A digital copy of the Original Sondtrack made by the master Grant Kirkhope' on the Kickstarter page.

Haha this is going to be a good watch  There's always something good coming out of something crappy, folks!

edit: Alright, skipped through it. This game is not even fun when you mock it, it's a total waste of time.
