Bought it, did not dissapoint.
Solid game with many elements from Mario Sunshine and other old platformers.

Makes waiting for Yooka Laylee easier ;)

A few lifted ideas from various Mario universes really. Some of the level design reminds me of some Galaxy stages. Though the tightropes and hanging from the chain platforms are clearly Sunshine haha.

I have to admit, it looks more interesting than most of the other garbage platformers that have crawled out from under rocks since the YL kickstarter, but something about it still seems off. It feels stuck between organic and inorganic I guess? Watching the trailer, I'm very aware that it was assets picked off a list and plunked into a world. A Hat In Time (as much as I'm not into it) does a better job of making the environments look organic at least.

I'd probably try this out, though not until it's heavily discounted.

It was in early access for maybe a year, and I've had the game wish listed for a long time now, but the game just doesn't look creative to me. That's probably what's keeping me from purchasing it.
Yooka-Laylee should be its own game with its own feeling. It shouldn't try to be like Banjo-Kazooie, it shouldn't try to be like Donkey Kong, it should be like Yooka-Laylee.
