Does Nintendo consider Playtonic Games an indie developer?

Does Nintendo consider Playtonic Games an indie developer?
If no then fine. However if yes, then Nintendo not showcasing Yooka-Laylee at the end of the most recent indie showcase was quite the disgrace to such a good game.

All the games they've shown came out after YL. YL is "old". I think that's the reason.

I'd say that's the reason too. They obviously want to push the newer stuff. I guess I can understand that even though I would have loved seeing YL in there.
