Re: Orchestral Track

I won't deny MIDI has its own charm to it, especially when it comes to oldschool 8-16 bit games, but Yooka Laylee is a modern game made in 2015. You don't want your graphics to look like they did on the N64 just because that's what Banjo Kazooie looked like. Yes, it'll be fun to activate the N64 sha...

Re: Yooka Laylee Appreciation Thread

I appreciate its existence. I see Playtonic and Yooka & Laylee as a blessing to us gamers. Pretty much this. More specifically I'd say that I love that it is a fun, lighthearted game full of color humor and most likely great characters instead of the brownish gray "adult" games we're ...

Re: Have people forgotten Playtonic are not idiots?

Are you sure you're not just annoyed by the amount of new people posting random stuff in here dotEXE? If so, then be prepared to live with it. I know how it feels and that it sucks, but it is unavoidable. I was part of the Secret World forums back when you had to solve a pretty crazy puzzle they h...

Re: Yooka needs some clothes

I personally don't really have a problem with the way they look, but something is indeed a tiny bit off. The character design seems to lack something indeed, but I am not sure it is clothing. One thing I learned is, that when so many people are asking for something related to desgin to be changed,...

Re: Do you like the scenery style?

I like stylized looks like this one and to me it looks beautiful as it is already, but if they wanted to change something about the way the levels look, I'd rather take another look at the (diffused) colours rather than the shapes. Compare this screenshot from Yooka Laylee (pre Alpha) and Super Ma...

Re: The last day of the Kickstarter is on the first day of E3

An E3 booth costs absurd amounts of money. Like 100k for a small one. The big companies like Nintendo or EA each blow millions on their booths every year. Apart from that being way too much for Playtonic I do not see how having one would benefit them. If anything, they might be part of one of the pr...

Re: [Stretch Goals] Update: 1.2Million Stretch Goal funded!

But what comes after physical copies on consoles..? For me they don't need any other stretch goals, ensure a physical release and then use the remaining money just for increased quality and to ensure payment of Playtonic's employees even if the development time needs to be prolonged. Well that's th...

Re: Nintendo should REALLY think about locking this project up!

I know that nintendo is known for the quality of their games , but I want the Playtonic team to have full control. That way they can do it exactly the way they want to make it. If a big corporation gets involved they may push for a quick release which ends up with a buggy unfinished game. There are...

Re: Backing

Kickstarter gives you one month of time to fix payment issues after the campaign is over. If you haven't payed by then, your pledge will simply be ignored. One month however should be more than enough to fix things if necessary, right?

Re: So, it gets on Wii U. Which controller?

I would have liked to see a more creative use of the controller, like Another Code did on the DS and Another Code R did on the Wii. They considered a lot more things when crafting their game, like the phyiscal attributes of the console or even how the system GUI overlays over the game GUI when press...

Re: Please disclose Framerate for 120hz 144hz users

I just don't see why it would be artificially locked to 60fps, there's no reason for that. Most games that have locked framerate nowadays usually have it because of bad and lazy programming practice or because the engine doesn't support it easily (Unreal Engine 3 can have trouble for instance). It'...

Re: Please disclose Framerate for 120hz 144hz users

If their hardware can support having both high framerates and high visual settings, why couldn't they have both? If they have weaker hardware, and if they prefer 144 fps to visual settings, they can easily choose to do so by disabling some visual effects. That's one of the benefits of PC gaming, yo...

Re: Please disclose Framerate for 120hz 144hz users

… I figured an argument like this would come up, like it always does. You are certainly right. There IS a difference between low fps and high fps, but the question is how many people actually notice during gameplay. If you are not used to seeing things in very high FPS (which only a few people have...

Re: Please disclose Framerate for 120hz 144hz users

I assume that the framerate for PC gamers will depend on their hardware, but why are all of you so keen on framerates faster than the human eye can perceive? Be glad if the game turns out to be good and worry about framerates above 60Hz (actually above 30 Hz), shaders and other nonesense later. If y...

Re: 64-bit Edition

Is a bit steep for a USB stick. How many of those were there? Merely 250. As I said, I understand that it is a collectible but why make it unatainable for 99% of backers by making it THIS expensive. This was the first reward I checked for, seconds after the campaign was online, since I knew it was ...

Re: 64-bit Edition

Am I the only one who thinks that it is a shame that the 64Bit Edition requires a pledge of almost 500€ + additional tax when shipped to Germany? I mean I wanted one of these really badly but I just cannot afford it. Isn't there a way to offer this at a cheaper price? The amount of people who would ...

Okay, let's see where do we begin… First of all I want to mention that the game itsself looks great so far and I am already looking very much forward to playing it. Since I like it so much though, I have some pretty specific, nitpicky suggestions I wanted to give you: _I'd suggest another font for t...
