Re: Now that we've got all these features, let's talk story!

I'm not expecting an epic or anything. Some goofy, kitschy story about needing to save the land/family member/last slice of pie with plenty of signature tongue-in-cheek humor is enough for me.

Re: Diddy Kong Racing Esque game in the future?

As much as I hate to say, Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed pretty much took on Diddy Kong Racing's style with more speed and aggression. Wait what..... DKR big thing was the Adventure mode, and being able to pick different cars for different tracks (not transformed in scripted events). SAR do...

Re: Why Playtonic can't do amiibos

yeah they do by making people want the wiiu version more for amiibo features not on PC or other systems. i mean nintendo did put mario in that basket ball & snowbordering game with real people in it & it was on the playstation & xbox but they put mario, luigi & peach as the exclusive...

Re: How big do you want the worlds to be???

If we're getting 5 skyrim sized worlds, then sure, no need for 10. But if we're getting ten worlds that are ultimately the size of Tooie levels, then that seems reasonable to me. That sort of faulty comparison is an argumentative fallacy. Skyrim's world--- while smaller than, say, Morrowind--- comp...

Re: Why Playtonic can't do amiibos

when i say i want amiibo support i mean i want nintendo's amiibos like say the supper smash bros. line to unlock something very simple like mario unlocking his hat on yooka or laylee. It's extremely unlikely, this is first and foremost a PC game. Yes console versions were always planned and now hav...

Re: How big do you want the worlds to be???

Let's assume that they won't do just 5 levels as the kickstarter said, just because of the massive success. Let's assume 10 levels instead. I'd rather they focus on refining and perfecting what they have planned than adding a whole bunch more than what was promised simply because of funds. The fund...

Re: How big do you want the worlds to be???

I want worlds that approximate my appetite. Big enough to the point I'm satisfied.

Re: Diddy Kong Racing Esque game in the future?

As much as I hate to say, Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed pretty much took on Diddy Kong Racing's style with more speed and aggression. I think a kart racer would be nothing but moot at this point, unless they did something REALLY new with it, or made it more or less an exact clone of DKR--- ...

Re: Too much like Banjo-Kazooie?

But from what I've seen, I don't think it'll be much like Spyro at all. The Kickstarter stretch goals really sounds like a Rare game to me: a mix between Banjo, DK64 and DKC. This is the vibe I get as well, I think the game will have bits of inspiration from ye olde Rare's best platformers. The min...

Re: Yooka Laylee Appreciation Thread

I pretty much love everything about it. I'm usually pretty pessimistic on Kickstarter funded games (because I got burned by one) and pick and choose what I fund extremely carefully, but after reading through the Yooka-Laylee kickstarter (more or less as soon as it launched, I was watching the timer ...

David Wise is the man. Grant Kirkhope is also he man. Put faith in both of them to deliver.
