Re: Why I'm afraid that Yooka-Laylee is becoming more like Donkey Kong 64 than Banjo-Kazooie (and hope it won't be)

I know that there is a lot of room for interpretation in much of what has been said about this game, I just wanted to get this opinion out there before anything was pinned down. Regarding the minecart sections, I did not dislike the minecart sections from DK64, but I think it would have been much mo...

Why I'm afraid that Yooka-Laylee is becoming more like Donkey Kong 64 than Banjo-Kazooie (and hope it won't be)

I think that most people would agree that Banjo Kazooie is a far superior game to Donkey-Kong 64, and in preparation for Yooka-Laylee's release, I went and replayed both of these old platforming gems. I also got my hands on a copy of Conker's Bad Fur day, and I might be referencing that a bit throug...

Tooka-Laylee Revel in End Credits

We all remember how awesome it was when Mumbo came out during the end credits of Banjo-Kazooie and revealed Banjo-Tooie and the stop n' swop, and personally, I'm hoping they do the same thing here. I know that a lot people have already posted that they hope a stop n' swop like mechanic is being plan...

Tooka-Laylee. I'm calling it right now. The sequel shall be dubbed Tooka-Laylee.

Re: That fourth wall? Smash it.

I like the fourth wall breaking as it was used for those cheeky lines in Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie, but let's please not have another L.O.G situation. The way it was used so heavily in Nuts and Bolts just completely butchered the opening.

Re: Yooka needs some clothes

Keeping with tradition, I definitely think there should be some clothes, at least on Yooka. I love the Hawaiian shirt idea, and I even think giving Laylee a hat might not be so bad either. The comments from NPC's and the functionality brought from the backpack just enhanced the original games so much.

Re: Voice Mumbling

The best voice mumble was Rubee from Banjo-Kazooie's Gobi's Valley hands down. And I agree that the mumbles from the original games were by far the best.

Re: Running out of Stretch Goals, let's make new ones

A full set of nine worlds! Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie set that standard, and it would just be a shame to fall short of that now.

Re: Only 5 Worlds in the game?

I highly agree with the concerns expressed in the original post. To me, nine levels is standard for a Banjo-Kazooie game, and the spiritual successor shouldn't have any lower standards. I get that these levels expand, but it's the major thematic differences between the worlds that makes them so much...
