Re: New here? Meet & greet!

Interesting thread you submitted. This is a great way of making fellow Yooka-Laylee (or generally Rareware/Playtonic Games) fans. I'm actually new here, so hello everyone in the Platonic forums!

Re: [Stretch Goals] Update: £2 Million Stretch Goal funded!

I'm currently in college for that. For your sake I hope you mean you're studying something applicable across the industry like "software-engineering" or "programming" and working towards a Computer Science degree, and not "game design at DeVry online". Getting into the...

Re: Banjo-Kazooie or Banjo-Tooie?

It's pretty hard to determine which game I like best. Banjo-Kazooie was really challenging when I first play through the entire game. But when I played it the second time, I manage to beat it under nine hours. I probably could've done better if I had proficient knowledge of the game itself (talking ...

Re: Which platform of choice would you be playing Yooka-Laylee?

The reasons are different for different people, but I personally prefer it for the larger available library, ability to emulate other systems, far longer back-compatibility and ability to use almost whatever controller you want on whatever game you want (as long as the emulator is compatible of cou...

Re: What have YOU pledged? POLL

It's been mentioned that the N64 cartridges will have a custom USB drive in them rather than an N64 cartridge board, so unfortunately no. That would be quite something to see YL on the actual N64 though. Maybe someone could emulate it. When I first saw that, I was blown away until I read the part t...

Re: Which platform of choice would you be playing Yooka-Laylee?

I am almost completely a PC gamer, so there's little surprise I'm getting the PC version. I'm one of those people who still has and uses a Wii too though so I am considering the WiiU as my next console, since I have my old Wii games in top condition still. This is gonna sound weird, but Yooka-Layle...

Re: Which platform of choice would you be playing Yooka-Laylee?

Even though i have a PS4 i will still play on my PC because the PS4 is shared and i wouldn't be able to simply wait for my friend to share it back, (Sharing is a tough thing. Q.Q) Hahaha! I remember those days when my older brother and I argue of who gets to play the N64 first. Our relationship was...

Re: [Stretch Goals] Update: £2 Million Stretch Goal funded!

I'm very proud and excited for Playtonic Games. For an independent studio, they're really outdoing themselves. DLC, extended gameplay, some Banjo-Kazooie love, and not to mention, their humor still remains the same. I just can't wait! They even inspired me to build games of my own. I'm currently in ...

Re: Which platform of choice would you be playing Yooka-Laylee?

Out of those options, I only have a PC, and when I backed the Kickstarter I chose the reward that comes with the full game on Steam when it is released. Now, if it came to Xbox 360 then I'd definitely get it for that as well, but I guess it's all about Xbox One nowadays, and I don't have one of tho...

Re: Which platform of choice would you be playing Yooka-Laylee?

So if Reggie confirmed it's a home console and first party support for the WiiU is dying, how is it a 50/50? WiiU out, NX in. And frankly after the lackluster WiiU performance I'm gonna be a tough sell on the NX. I hope Nintendo opts for decent performance and some first party titles that make sens...

Re: Which platform of choice would you be playing Yooka-Laylee?

The fact the Metroid Prime devs said Metroid Prime 3 would have to be on the NX more or less confirms that it's a home console. I highly suspect it will have a mobile handheld component, but it will definitely be replacing the WiiU based on what I've heard. It's a 50-50 wether if the Nintendo Wii U...

Re: Which platform of choice would you be playing Yooka-Laylee?

Personally, Nintendo's underwhelming digital event won't change my view on which console to play the game... They are slowly killing off the Wii U to prepare the Codename NX, of that I agree but that bad Digital Event won't change my view on the console, it's not the best but I like it. To me, sinc...

Re: Which platform of choice would you be playing Yooka-Laylee?

It was Always going to be wiiu for me until the e3 just gone. Nintendo are obviously cutting their losses and abandoning the wiiu so I think I'll get it on a console with more longevity like the xb1. I can completely understand why you're skipping Wii U. Nintendo really messed things up at their of...

Which platform of choice would you be playing Yooka-Laylee?

I planned on getting it on all platforms, but I'll probably main the Wii U version for nostalgic reasons. But what about you though?

Re: What have YOU pledged? POLL

I pledged £100 ($154 U.S. dollars) for the T-Shirt, Box, and all the previous rewards. Mainly though, I just wanted to help out with the project. And as for the reward, it's gonna be a great memory to treasure when I get old; knowing that I backed a successful studio who will probably end up being a...
