Re: Yooka-Laylee for the Nintendo NX

@Lufkin Nice.

When they first showcased Yooka Laylee, Unity 5 wasn't a thing quite yet. Glad to know they made the jump.

An NX port may not be viable, though. Unless the Wii U version is inferior in some form, Nintendo users will have nothing to worry about.

Re: Young Conker

Unable to steal Tootie's likeness, Gruntilda forced Bubsy and Conker through the machine at the same moment. Though they both perished, Gruntilda came out the machine with no memory of her former self. "I have an idea" Gruntilda said, examining a mirror. "I'll call myself Young Conker...

Re: Yooka-Laylee for the Nintendo NX

Answers cannot get more clear than "maybe". 1. Unity Technologies would need to receive development kits 2. NX support for Unity would need to be developed 3. Playtonic would need a development kit 4. Yooka Laylee would need to be running on the latest version of Unity (Last they said, the...

Re: Will Yooka-Laylee be AMD compatible?

Oh, you mean performance wise?

Well, that depends on how powerful your CPU is. The fact that it's AMD isn't an issue.

Re: Will Yooka-Laylee be AMD compatible?

Yes.

AMD and Intel processors use the same instruction set, ignoring a few exclusive features that rarely see the light of day.

Re: Which platform of choice would you be playing Yooka-Laylee?

This topic derailed. Why are we talking about saggy old spouses? Ew. Anyway, I think I'll wait until we know more about the game, or if whether there are any hinderances/advancements on some platforms (For instance, if one version is graphically/technically less advanced, or if a controller better s...

Re: Playtonic Should Do This...

I'd say it's safe to think that they either have their WiiU development tools already or are already in the process of doing so (Even before their new site went live, it wasn't too hard for anyone with a game to get the dev kit) As for NX, possible - They'd have to either port Mono to the system or ...

Re: What happened to A Hat in Time?

Just a quick FYI - Check out the Twitter @HatInTime - They update that almost frequently in ways that wouldn't make sense as Kickstarter updates. I only guess that it's taken this long for the game to arrive because UnrealScript is dead. Jonas Kaelerv is only one programming the game and they were u...

Re: Playtonic Games at Challenge TV (in UK, obviously)

A good artist can make the most out of any tool. The guys at Playtonic are talented and experienced 3D artists; don't be concerned that they're using Sketchup. If it's the easiest and quickest tool for them to use and it still gets the job done well, I don't see an issue. Back to my original post (...

Re: Playtonic Games at Challenge TV (in UK, obviously)

A new level model was being worked on. It was untexture, but looked like a large building/temple exterior with platforming elements leading to the top, and I think it had a few entrances leading inside the building. [1] , [2] , [3] They use Google Sketchup for development? Is that even legal?! Comm...

Why do you suppose credit names are ASCII only if they're planning on doing full translations for the game?

This just struck me as odd. For instance, they're apparently doing a German translation of the game, so Unicode characters like 'β' may not be uncommon. Not really much of a problem for me, but I find this odd. No Unicode for 'Special Thanks' when the rest of the game will use it anyway? Maybe the s...
