Input Lag

I'm playing on windows 10 via steam and, no matter what I use for input (PS3 controller or keyboard), I seem to have most of a second's delay on anything I do, making precise platforming impossible. I can't even traverse what I assume is the hubworld far enough to get the first move. Any ideas as to...

Re: Your Favorite Rare Games

Almost certainly Diddy Kong Racing but the first three BK games are certainly up there and I have very fond memories of Jet Force Gemini.

Re: Boxed Release Confirmed

So does this mean I can bypass the need for Steam? I really hope it does.

Re: More Indie characters: Yea or Nay?

Shovel Knight is fine as a small cameo and that's how he aught to stay. Another big name indie character or two would be OK but we don't want an overabundance of crossovers, anyone who makes us ask "who the hell is this nobody?" or for any of them to outstay their welcome.

Re: Things that you DO NOT want in this game.

I trust the devs enough to not expect anything bad so here's what I want : - Non playable cutscenes like Kazooie and Tooie - A Water Level (more like Clanker's Cavern and less like Jolly Roger's Lagoon) - A Scary Level - A buton-smashing minigame - Non-optional quiz - Interconnected Levels. - Colle...

Re: Things that you DO NOT want in this game.

My point was that that technically happened one-sidedly in the BK game over animation.

Re: Playtonic Universe - Problem?

Speaking of such things, I very much approve of Nintendo's take on a multiplayer team-based online shooter. Vastly more compelling than anything their competitors offer.

Re: Things that you DO NOT want in this game.

Modern FPS controls, mouse exclusivity, any mention of the term "app".

Re: Playtonic Universe - Problem?

Could you not see, for example, Hot Gruntilda working in Aperture or Solid Snake on the phone to Trowzer about some unusual and much needed weaponry? There are ways to cross over the characters without breaking the veil of seriousness of the setting for those not in on the joke.

Re: That one Rare title you hate?

Does the abomination known as Diddy Kong Racing DS count? If not, Starfox Adventures. I remember the latter being on in its day but it's completely unplayable now and I can't see how I could ever not use hated it.

Re: Let's Talk Swimming

I don't know what the buttons are mapped to on a controller so can't say how difficult using both sticks would be but, on PC, waggling a mouse and holding forward to control yourself is super easy. Way easier than the rest of the game with keyboard controls.

Re: Let's Talk Swimming

Hard to learn, no. Hard to control, most definitely. Trying to use warp pads in Jolly Rodger Bay, for example, was absolutely infuriating and involved a good deal of shouting at Jam Jars for being able to tell I wanted to warp but not warping me (dumb mole). Similarly, Rusty Bucket Bay's turbine jig...

Re: Let's Talk Swimming

I highly preferred Kazooie's swimming states to Yooka Laylee, navigating water space with a stick and only the stick (holding forward to move) felt awkward and it felt like I was fighting 20+ years of instincts taught to me by many games. I'd very much prefer it if they went back to Kazooie/Tooie s...

Re: Visual clarity for rolling uphill

Notice the two different shades of blue. One can be scaled, one cannot. They are not too hard to tell apart IMO.

Re: Rolling on water?

I looked into using a wired Xbox controller, but you need to do something with drivers and I just couldn't find them. Also I do have a USB thing that I use for my GC controllers to play Sm4sh with but I don't think it'll work for my computer though. I'll give it a shot but... Welp, fingers crossed ...
