Re: Share Your Ideas for Animations! Idle, rolling, talking, and more!

Here are some I can think of. - Tiptoe animation when walking at the slowest speed. - Confident expression when they see a small enemy. - Slightly cautious expression when they see a medium enemy. - Occasionally panicked expression and body movements when they see a massive enemy/obstacle. It doesn'...

Re: Please make the blob shadow optional

Personally, I'm a fan of Super Mario Galaxy 2's Mario shadow. Here's a refresher. A shadow that's always in the same spot below the character, like a blob shadow, but it also reflects character movement. It's not just a blob. Allows for platforming accuracy and still looks decent. It's not realistic...

Re: Toybox feedback & discussion thread (SPOILERS)

I know what you mean, Kavukamari. I love having free control of the camera. I'm fine with a fixed camera in certain areas, like the "Camera Test Area" in the Toybox. When it comes to pure platforming sections, however, it can be frustrating when the game thinks it knows what's best. Right ...

Re: Toybox: Others with motion sickness?

My sister mentioned something of this sort when we were playing. Apparently her issue was to do with the effect that such large amounts of solid bright colours have on perspective. Funny, a similar thing happened to me. Quite often, I'm prone to motion sickness from certain games, but Yooka-Laylee ...

Re: Ledge grabbing?

I voted no. I don't see it as necessity. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy ledge climbing, I also miss it. However, at this point in development, there are more pressing matters. It takes a lot of time and play-testing to add a new mechanic like that. It's not vital to the gameplay they're going for. I wo...

Re: Toybox Experience: Should There Be An Ability To Grab Objects?

I second what ReturnRare said. I love that attention to detail. The more animation, the merrier (if time permits...). Speaking of boulders rolling, that reminds me of Crash Bandicoot 2 , notice how he's panicked and checks behind to see how close it's getting. It really does add a lot of personality...

Re: Toybox Box-Maze Camera Angles

I'm totally all in favor of the isometric camera with rotation added. Perhaps also a bit closer to the player. Just a bit closer.
