Re: Proper voices as a stretch goal

If you'd played a game with voice acting like Mass Effect you'd know that the choices you have to respond are text until you select one, then they are spoken.

Re: Proper voices as a stretch goal

But could you imagine how paaainful, absolutely painful, Grunty's End Game Quiz would've been if she were reading the question and answers to you? Like, that would be terrible. I'd be trying to read faster than her to beat that 10 second clock and I hate when I am trying to "read over somebody...

Re: Proper voices as a stretch goal

Also even Diddy Kong Racing had voice acting. The bosses would talk to you when you got up to them. Did that make the game worse? It was even Banjo's first game.

Re: Proper voices as a stretch goal

Minecraft doesn't have any dialog. I don't care if a game has no dialog in it. I'm not saying people have to talk for the game to be good. I'm saying that when people talk you should be able to hear them. I hate is when you have to read through lines of text the game pressing A every few seconds. Th...

Re: Proper voices as a stretch goal

Oh come now, we'll need to see some citations. 95% of games have voice acting? What constitutes voice acting? What is the level of quality of this voice acting? A game with dialog that is not voiced by an actor is devoid of voice acting. How many modern games can you name that are like this? How ma...

Re: Proper voices as a stretch goal

In the off chance that you really are that delusional, Monkey Island is an adventure game. Adventure games rely mostly on their stories. Yooka Laylee is a 3D platformer. If there were platforming segments you had to get through in Monkey Island to get to the puzzles or the cut scenes it would detra...

Re: Proper voices as a stretch goal

Call of Duty and GTA 5 do have voice acting. If they only had subtitles there would been some people who refused to buy them. Especially when other similar games have voice acting. The fans and critics of Monkey Island 3 overwhelming agreed that it was better than #1 & #2 because of the voice ac...

Re: Proper voices as a stretch goal

Are you crazy? It would have been way better with motion controls! The buttons were tolerable because otherwise it was a good game. They couldn't afford to do motion controls because there was no motion controller on the N64! It didn't add anything to the game. In fact it reduced the quality. Other...

Re: Proper voices as a stretch goal

Banjo kazooie would not have been as good with voice acting. Are you crazy? It would have been way better with voice acting! The mumbles were tolerable because otherwise it was a good game. They couldn't afford to do voice acting because it would take up too much space on the cartridge! It didn't a...

Re: What next game would you want ?

#1 Cart Racer like Diddy Kong Racing with a full story adventure mode and boss races #2 Super Smash Bros. clone with Playtronic characters #3 Quest based Platformer / RPG with more of a focus on RPG elements. Basically Zelda gameplay with a new Hero #4 Regular platformer like Mario 64 not a duo like...

Re: Proper voices as a stretch goal

Mumbles suck! They were only included in Banjo Kazooie because the N64 had limited storage space on the cartridges. Modern games have actual voice acting.

I don't see why this game has to be kept in the dark ages. Please do proper voice acting. And if you can, make it all rhyme!!!

Re: Favorite worlds in BK, BT, DK64?

#1 Click Clock Wood (because of the seasons) #2 Fungi Forrest (because of the day night cycle) #3 Jolly Roger Bay (because of the pirate theme) #4 Frosty Peaks (because of the Xmas Snow Theme) #5 Clankers Cavern (because of the originality) Oh the whole I loved BK but wasn't very impressed with DK64...

Re: Diddy Kong Racing Esque game in the future?

I would love to see something similar to Diddy Kong Racing. With the story in the adventure mode, I thought it was way better than Mario Kart 64. I don't think they need to establish their characters first before putting them all in a cart racer. They can just brainstorm some characters and debut th...

What other Playtonic Games would you like to see Yooka and Laylee in?

Hi All, What other Playtonic games would you like to see Yooka and Laylee in? I'd like to see Playtonic bring out a Cross Platform Cart Racer like Diddy Kong Racing or Mario Kart. I think this would be a great way to introduce some of the future Playtonic Characters who are going to star in their ow...

Re: Tooka-Laylee Revel in End Credits

I hope Playtonics next game is a Cart Racer like Diddy Kong Racing. That was one of my all time favorite Rareware games. I liked it way better than Mario Kart 64. A Cart Racer would be a good opportunity to introduce all the Playtonic characters and gauge customer enthusiasm for which characters sho...

Re: The World Ideas

My Favorite World from Banjo Kazooie was Click Clock Wood. I'd really like to see a world with multiple seasons that require travelling through different seasons to solve the puzzles. DK64 also had a night and day world. However I didn't like this as much as you simply used a metal pad to change the...

Re: Running out of Stretch Goals, let's make new ones

I'd like to see the following as Stretch Goals: 1. More Worlds. I'd like to see 10 worlds. 2. Online Cross Platform Multiplayer. Co-op and deathmatch / racing / whatever the local multiplayer supports. 3. Local and Online Counter-op multiplayer. In this mode the friend(s) takes control on the minion...
