Re: Kickstarter Tracking Thread

Don't worry it was a site wide bug (happening for all projects).
But as you can see, everything is back to normal.

Re: Kickstarter Tracking Thread

I noticed that yesterday. I thought it was a bug on the mobile site. (Same thing happened for Bloodstained, where it went down to 40,000$)

Re: GOG Version & 64-Bit Edition Restock!

I am getting a physical copy, which includes a PC version, and the digital console version.
Since my notebook is pretty much crap, I will just get a GOG key and use it some day, eventually (maybe?).

Re: E3 - Speculation & Anticipation thread!

As far as Playtonic, I think they will reveal the main villain on the first day of E3 (or maybe a day early). I think that will be the big bang for the end of the campaign. As I am not that big of a gamer nowadays, the only thing I am really interested from E3 is the possible announcement of new Sma...

His portfolio is pretty diverse and pretty neat. Have to admit I didn't know him beforehand, but the artbook will be gorgeous.

Re: Any creative ideas on how to display +60 000 backer names?

I already posted it on the subreddit, but I too think an interactive way to display them would be good. Could be an Arcade Machine in the Hub World. Something like a 2D sidescrolling shooter, where you have to shoot names and take damage if they reach the left side of the screen. After you take enou...

Re: Well...

I only bought a Wii U to play Super Smash Bros. (which I play competitively) and it is my only gaming device apart from my 3DS.
But slowly a few good Wii U games have been released and I will definitely get Y-L for it too.

Re: Why Yooka-Laylee amiibo is a realistic possibility...

The only thing being in the way is the fact that it is not a Nintendo exclusive. I think that seriously hurts the chance of it happening. However, the small series like Splatoon and Chibi Robot are a good point. (didn't even know about Chibi Robot) Possibility, yes. But I think it is still unlikely....

Re: What do you want in a Ocean World?

It really just needs Yooka eating something to gain some swimming capabilities.
Think of how amazing it was to swim in Zelda Majoras Mask as a Zora! I really loved doing that!

Some powerup for Yooka to swim as fast (and also good underwater controls) and a water world would be a joy!

Re: Villain of Yooka-Laylee?

Seriously, just because it is a spiritual successor doesn't mean the villain must be a witch. The protagonists aren't a bear and bird either. I do think it could be an old hag like Grunty though. Someone else brought it up, that it could be an old librarian. Something along those lines. Maybe she di...

Re: Yooka-Laylee Reaches 1000% it's Kickstarter goal!

Congrats! Pretty impressive actually. Even though the original goal was of course not the full budget to make the game, reaching 1000% is still a pretty big achievement imo.

Re: Some Issues with Yooka-Laylee I've noticed.

They already stated that the coins are work in progress.
It says so in the foot note of one of the screenshots in the campaign.

Although criticism is generally a good thing and should be endorsed, I would expect from people to do some research before going around and booing at things.

Oh boy, I was all like "this game is not coming out for Wii U so I don't have to bother donating".
Now I actually have an incentive to do so  ($3m Wii U port stretch goal)

Ha, funnily enough, that's exactly what I thought today. (after checking the Kickstarter for updates again)
This is the longest period (6 days) without an update to the kickstarter.

Re: Idea: Give free copies of the game to YouTubers in turn that they promote it via Twitch or YouTube?

Yeah the idea is not bad in itself. I have no problem with YouTubers playing the game, of course not. (Many will do it anyway) And I also have faith in Playtonic that they would do this fair, IF they'll do it (i.e. not bribing them). It's just when it becomes a main part of your marketing strategy a...

Re: Idea: Give free copies of the game to YouTubers in turn that they promote it via Twitch or YouTube?

I read this whole thread in a sarcastic tone and am truly sorry if that was not your intention. Your fantastic free idea is common practice. Most publishers send their games to YouTubers. I actually dislike it. But there is no stopping it. Many popular YouTubers are used for marketing, they know it,...

Re: Some Issues with Yooka-Laylee I've noticed.

No it depends on how you acutally pronounce the next word.
So with "FPS" you pronounce it as "eff pee ess" which means they should use 'an' in front of it.

Fun example is university, where you use 'a' in front of it because you pronounce it similar to "you".
