Re: The most ludicrous call-to-action you can think of!

I not sure, but I'll assume the basic components of a story developed by Playtonic are what led them to select "Pagies" as the main collectable. But if not, what the hey ¯\_(ツ)_/¯, I'll drop my hat in. What if they have an overdue library fee(to a ridiculous degree). Someone(main antagonis...

Dump good diologe here!

I've noticed while browsing, some people have come up with great pieces of possible dialogue for the game. It's a shame there hasn't been an agreed upon space to collect these from other user's posts! :) I'm going to do my best to return here and quote the post when ever I read something clever or f...

Re: Yooka needs some clothes

Why not photoshop a single head of a flower with its petals like an incomplete lei (colors from photos not necessary favorable). Obviously the goal would be to place it on in a way that doesn't effeminate the characters persona(just so it's not going against the devs gender choices) Examples that I ...

Re: DLC discussion

I ultimately hope the culture in that Playtonic development room is what the backers hope it is. That the backers, and in the end the players, will get a polished and full exciting game FIRST(all the love & sweat poured into a masterpiece), then the development of DLC will start later and from a...

Re: Found an edited image of the character design, really improves a lot IMO

I'm only placing my perspective in case Steve actually comes here looking(for whatever reason). So the edit to me looks good, I did find it more favorable in an aesthetic sense. The basic reason was that I just found Laylee's nose to be loud and attention sucking, which wasn't what I personally like...

Re: Beta 64 Playtonic Games Interview

The reason I am strongly in support of the "one type of resource for moves" concept is it will not take the developers time and energy to plan where to put different resources. But more than that, the development process isn't hindered creatively; there's no need to have to find a specific...

Re: Do you think there's more than 2 playable characters?

I think a clever/entertaining and unexpected temporary control of an essential/ non-essential NPC would contribute to a memorable experience if it was done with a building of excitement. Lets say that there is an NPC that is obviously cool, like really cool (we would have seen their power establishe...

Re: Trowzer: The Bottlesss of Yooka-Laylee!

I agree with this one eye character detail. If this wasn't done on purpose it should definitely be considered as a modification to his character. His character would be a Golden 10 for me(complete) if he had only one eye opened. (You can't waste great potential like that!) A one-eyed trouser snake??...

Re: Writing themed collectibles ideas...

An exciting concept that came to me while writing in a thread on world themes. These two excerpts are from that post(with minor edits for comprehension). In this first excerpt, for the sake of keeping relevance to this thread, I would ask that when you read "pagies" here, just replace &quo...

Re: Clever nods to the past

If there is a water level outdoors, I think it would be cool to find some yellow shorts and a blue backpack Easter egg hidden in some bushes or hung on a branch(someone went skinny dipping?). Obvious to find or not. :) Red feathers in a weird spot could also be a nod. Or a quest involving the collec...

Re: World Theming

A world which is a construction site with a tall skyscraper framework made of red steel beams and the player must climb up to the top and on top is an angry ape which throws crates on the player to keep him away to reach the top and get a pagie. Also a spiritual reference to the first Donkey Kong g...

Re: World Theming

I mentioned in another thread if they had a world that was an homage to 3D platforming's roots. It would be cool if there was a world made of 64 bit graphics. Even better is if the two look like they were n64 characters for the duration of being in that world. This. I mean... texture stretching, bi...

I'd like to see a world inspired by the Fountain of Dreams (such a magical stage): http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/kirby/images/7/77/FountainOfDreams.png/revision/latest?cb=20071206154746&path-prefix=en http://www.ssbwiki.com/images/thumb/0/01/Fountainofdreams.jpg/250px-Fountainofdreams.jpg...

Re: World Theming

Since worlds will expand if you invest your collected pages into it, I would love to see some side incentive to do so. Like, lets say you've done the bare minimum to move on from one book/world to the next, but you wanted to find out what happened to a character(s), TO ADVANCE THE STORY STILL GOING ...

Re: Stop 'n' Swop done right - Connecting multiple games!

Stop 'n' Swop seemed clever for its time; I fail to see its appeal today. (If you think you can enlighten me please do, I would love to see the potential.) I can see the development team's support for it when it would have been the most unique feature for those days. If it was implemented successful...

Re: Clever nods to the past

I think the writers of these games have always had a sensibility for meta and self-reference. I think they should naturally stick to that, but only if it comes spontaneously. "Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts" basically hit you over the head with snide comments and fourth wall breaking all o...

Re: Amiibo!!! OH MY GOSH !

An Amiibo seems to be a tool for Nintendo to further stretch the dollars of its consumers by limiting otherwise accessible content; much like DLC that is already loaded onto a game when it launches.(that type of "DLC" only downloads access to content not "new content") In my view...
