Re: No blob shadows? 3D platforming needs them.

An option to turn on or off this kind of shadow seems to be a decent solution. Then the smaller issue arises: which is the default? I'm really torn on this. I want the game to look visually awesome. But at the same time I understand the concern for this. But remember if you go with top down shadows...

Re: Formal Bosses in Project Ukulele

I liked Banjo-Tooie's way of doing bosses more than any other game I can think of playing. The fights could've used more variety than "EGGS!" I guess, but I ADORE having a unique boss that ties into a world's theme at the end of each "level". Also, I like being able to fight the...

Re: Yooka needs some clothes

Is this to your liking? http://imageshack.com/a/img537/5403/6L60pM.jpg I'm not gonna lie I really like the direction of this one. Someone mentioned a bandana awhile ago and that could work too. I wonder what kind of personality Yooka will have. This could potentially go well with it. I know you guy...

Re: About the artstyle.

The thing is rare used to have a rather dark / brother grimm magic fairytale theming with dark rooms and as many as possible shimmering lights and bright & colorful fairydust particles flying around bringing light and magic into the dark, even back in the SNES platformer days compared to what o...

Re: The nature of game saves

Definitely have it similar to DK64. Where you can save your current progress at any time, but when you leave the game and turn it back on, you return to the hub world. This system formed a personal connection to the hub world. I still know where everything is on DK isle, Isle O Hags, and Gruntilda's...

Re: The "True" or "Good" Ending.

This is a good concept.

The best example. I got to see it myself, the feel when you put down the controller and say "It's finished".

Re: 60 fps

Honestly, I don't think any of the consoles will have a problem reaching 60 fps. They still have decent graphic capabilities. In a game like this, I feel that it won't be very heavy on the consoles. If they focus on the single player aspect, I feel it would hold a steady 60 fps. And yes fellow PC en...

Re: Too much like Banjo-Kazooie?

Can't think of a game for it to better be like, honestly. Shoot for one of the best. I have no qualms with large similarities. Also in the "i thought that was the point" boat. Room for one more in that boat? Looks like we are gonna need a bigger boat. Sure I want Yooka and Laylee to have ...

Re: Things that you DO NOT want in this game.

⋅ Menu-based level selection ⋅ Levels don't require skill, intelligence, or effort to unlock (strips sense of accomplishment) ⋅ One undisciplined voice actor doing all the voices with varying skill/dedication ⋅ Sociopathy ⋅ Puzzles that don't have l...

Re: Platforming challenges: Rusty Bucket Bays engine room

^Jesus! That-throwing-your-controller-at-the-wall rage quit is the most exaggerated and scary thing I find in a modern gamer.^ Okay I mean he could have worded it better. But the point still stands, and I do agree to a degree. Hard levels are definitely rage inducing, but the feeling after beating ...
