I haven't heard a single thing about the DLC since it was first pitched in the Kickstarter. Is it still happening? Honestly I don't care one way or the other if they make the DLC or just move on to other projects; it would just be nice to know.
I would back another Playtonic Kickstarter, though I have to say Yooka-Laylee did not live up to my hopes. I admit my hopes were high, but it does sort of feel cathartic eventually admitting that YL didn't live up to them. It had its charms, but it was no replacement for Banjo Kazooie which I've bea...
I'm not upset at all. I'm just starting to be able to admit that it wasn't a 110/100 beyond-flawless title. My few suggestions for improvement are still minor, and I wouldn't even call them complaints. Just ... room for improvement.
I guess making their worlds feel more lived-in is a place for improvement in Twoka Laylee. I think the perfect counter-example to anything in YL would be Banjo Tooie. Everything in BT (despite some complaints that it's "big" or "backtracky") feels lived in, and Jolly Roger's Lago...
I haven't seen any of this ballbusting from fans. I've seen maaaaaaaaaaaybe a few people complain about the camera or that one move in particular is overpowered. "Professional" Critics got their heads up their ends because the game is similar to Banjo, and to those critics the fans almost ...
His claim that YL is to BK as Might9 is to MegaMan is about as far off the mark as you can get. MN9 is a steaming pile of garbage that comes NOTHING close to the source material. Yooka Laylee is a great game in its own right and comes very close to the source material. The rest of the review is more...
The thing with the worlds is - they went into developing the game with the "expanding world" innovation as a core design goal. I have a few thoughts on that right away: 1) Yes, it was innovative. I have to applaud this before I complain about it. It was a unique idea, it was a first shot a...
Tooie is by far the better game. It's everything BK is and then more. It's more or less "Big, Interconnected BK". I really like YL but after reading this thread realize they could have done a bit more with the story aspects. The worlds, while they have themes, have no overarching story wha...
Something I've been wondering... Capital B. Is it a reference or a joke I don't get? Cause I don't really get why he's called that. Also he says every now and again, a reptile once came through here before, he was obsessed with crystals, what's that a reference to? I assumed Capital B was a referen...
Pointless, how so? You know a computer can look for information in other files right? It would be trivially easy for the next game to check your Yooka Laylee save folder for the presence of those pirate treasures.
Banjo Kazooie actually does have backtracking. Between Gobi's Valley and Freezeezy. Both levels require an element of the other. I'd like to see them keep the backtracking, and add interconnections between the required worlds like how Tooie had. Chuffy, the water pipes often connected, etc. If they ...
I wish that Twooka Laylee is the official name. Followed by Yooka Laythree. I liked the boss from the Marsh. The wall bosses are forgettable, agreed. For worlds I'd like to see 7-8. I don't have any problems with the worlds in YL1 but if they stayed about the same size and kept improving (like these...
