Re: With the Impossible Lair announced...

They need money from the new game to fund the DLC for the last game? Jeez. They made over TWO MILLION from a £175,000 goal. Many people either don’t know or forget this, but projects don’t keep all of the funding they get from Kickstarter. Kickstarter can take up to 10% of that for their fees and p...

Re: With the Impossible Lair announced...

That's unfortunate to hear. Not that we need to wait on the DLC, but that Playtonic needs the money from THIS game to further support the first one. I was hoping their funding was more stable to work on multiple projects. I hope they can start making more money for stuff, not just DLC. I can wait fo...

Re: A More positive reception...

I will say my backer copy on the switch played more comfortably than the one I bought for my Xbox one several months before. It’s just nice to see people giving the game a fair shake. It’s not without its problems, but I still believe it’s a good game that the critics were way too harsh on.

A More positive reception...

Anybody noticing that Yooka-Laylee seems to have more positive reviews and that perception has changed a bit more towards the positive? Yooka-Laylee was received fairly well on the switch, and it seems to have mostly positive reviews on Steam. I look at videos like the trailer for the impossible and...

Re: Playtonic Don't Want Impossible Lair Compared to DKC

they wanted to capture that old "rare" magic. Now its time for them to do that while creating some new Playtonic magic of their own.

Re: Banjo-Kazooie is in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate!

I’m going insane. Right now at this very moment I’m torn between playing three different games. Donkey Kong country tropical freeze, Yooka-Laylee, and dusting off the Xbox one to play banjo-kazooie on Rare Replay.

Re: YL & The Impossible Lair - Please remember to make it challenging

I hope there is at least one level that is as shockingly hard the first time as the minecart level from the original Donkey Kong Country. As long as it isn't stupid hard like that level in the lost world of DKC2 where you had to transform into all of your animal buddies. That Squawks section with t...

Re: NEW BANJO GAME AT E3???

I mean what would they gain from allowing their competition to use their characters if it isn't to promote a new game? I'm pretty sure all their re-releases of BK games was years ago. Btw who else would love to see the corpse of the Lord of Games lying around or something like that? It would certai...

Also gotta love how this is such a big deal that the Kongs and K. Rool put aside their differences to celebrate: https://66.media.tumblr.com/5577244bf3bb1d30642086e48e04ee24/tumblr_psy50t6o8W1y04ohwo1_540.gif How would you people have felt if it was the redesign from Nuts & Bolts and that sega ...

Re: Clive N' Wrench Get A Makeover

the game is looking really solid of late. I'm not sure when the dev is planning on releasing it as they are very dedicated to making sure it is in a perfect state before release. Admirable, but it makes the wait all the harder! XD

Re: NEW BANJO GAME AT E3???

Should the worst happen and Banjo-Kazooie as a franchise is indeed dead (we'll have to see if anything is done in the Nintendo Direct) at least we still have the OG creators in Playtonic and Yooka-Laylee will fill that void. I just started to watch the developer commentary videos on Y-L and they see...

Sadly no love for banjo with Microsoft’s E3 this year. Maybe Microsoft and Nintendo has a surprise with the Nintendo direct presentation.

Re: Playtonic Games announces Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair

It’s pretty cool that this game is coming out with physical editions for all consoles at the same time. And while it’s not entirely specific when it’s going to release we do know it’s going to release this year, “sooner than you think” apparently. It’s all pretty exciting. The more I think about it ...

Re: Playtonic Games announces Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair

I was pleasantly surprised by this announcement! This looks like a fun side story to Yooka-Laylee. This seems to be the DKC version of "Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's revenge" in that it takes place after the first game but before the second. I vaguely remember the team at playtonic tweeting that...

Re: What other world themes would you like to see?

Love spooky levels like mad monster mansion or creepy castle. There was something almost fairy tale like about the levels in B-K B-T and DK64. What if they did something like visit Hamelot and it has a day/night transition like Fungi forest and it is overrun with ghouls and monsters. You can only ge...

Re: Tooka-Laylee story ideas

I agree with all of your points, and felt the same way. Banjo-Kazooie’s Game over cut scene was frightening, and let you see the consequences of failing. It made it all the more reason for you not to fail. Also, thanks! I’m glad you liked my idea for a story sequel. And I think your reason for the d...

Tooka-Laylee story ideas

So now that I'm nearing the end of my second playthrough of Yooka-Laylee I'm beginning to wonder what the Story cold be for the sequel and I wanted to open the floor to some interesting story ideas that you think COULD happen or what you would like to see happen. One of the things that I felt were s...
