Re: The species of Yooka and Laylee

I had to look up Honduran White Bat to make sure it was real (as that one seems to be a crafted item) and holy heck that thing is so very adorable. It's just puff! With a nose and wings! So cute!! If Laylee could be this, I would be so happy. http://41.media.tumblr.com/2db4c00acc9c3442bc3a538348b1ce...

Re: The idea was shot down before, But I'm going to go ahead and push it again. Amiibos for Yooka-Laylee.

So, completely avoiding any discussion on the feasibility or fairness of it... I'd buy one. :? That being said, I want it for the figure. Couldn't care less about content unlocks. So a non-amiibo figure would be fine with me. Agreed. Amiibos are generally really good quality figurines, which is the...

Re: Which platform of choice would you be playing Yooka-Laylee?

I'm debating. It'll definitely be on one of the three consoles, may just flip a coin on it; heads - ps4, tails - flip again to choose between wii u and xbox one. 2 coins. Heads/heads = PS4 Heads/tails = Xbox One Tails/tails = Wii U That gives the XBO 50% chance and the others 25% chances, and Ritak...

Re: 'RARE REPLAY' and 'SEA OF THIEVES'

We have an XBone and I hardly play it because there's nothing all that interesting on it. RareReplay sounds fun though, and am looking forward to it.

Never had an opinion on pirates, so not sure on the Sea of Thieves game. They would have to really win me over at some point.

Re: Mint Condition N64 Cartridges for Playtonic.

I agree, Injection Molding sounds nice. It won't be a working cartridge anyway because it has to be gutted. I understand the authenticity argument, kindof... but I think something completely original that can only be received from this kickstarter would hold a lot more value to a lot of people as a ...

Re: Mint Condition N64 Cartridges for Playtonic.

Mint condition, as in just good quality cartridge, or does it need to have the original stickers in good condition as well? Most of my carts are fine and non-blemished by marker/stuff, but the stickers are bad because we were kids and ugh. I wonder why it hasn't been considered to 3D print something...

Re: General Chat (& Random Thoughts)

Okay, for an actual thought... I noticed that I remember many of you people. Maybe that's because we're not flooded with new, active members, but I have to admit that I like it that way. This little, but very passionate community. It really builds up a familiar atmosphere! I agree. While some more ...

Re: Age of Fans?

I'm 24, personally. Almost 25 though, yeahhhh. In '98 I was 8, I say it's fair to say I was about 9 when I played BK the first time, although I can't vouch for how good I was at it. I feel both old and young on this forum considering the votes on the age set above mine. Kinda weird, don't usually ge...

Re: Things that you DO NOT want in this game.

Ignoring sounds for soundtrack. I don't think we've heard any in-game effects beyond the amazing two musical pieces, and I'm hoping the sound design isn't too overlooked by the end of things. Again concerning the feeling of weight, I'd love to hear Yooka's footsteps pitter-pattering in a satisfying...

Re: Yooka needs some clothes

Maybe Yooka's colors are the "transformation recognizable" part. We've only seen Keiths, which are blue, and while I'm not saying there's no green enemies or other animals, maybe green is not as common by design choice. "Hey! I've never seen a green Keith before!" "Um...*gul...

Re: Proper voices as a stretch goal

If you take our stretch goal to add an orchestral score – that doesn’t add risk to the project. Any more that we add will just be giving specific features to the fans, we don’t want to make our lives worse by adding stuff that may well mean we miss our release date . We’re going to try to do the op...

I've looked at all of these designs, and while they're okay, they really just don't look right.

Plus I want silly jokes from other NPCs about how Yooka doesn't wear any pants.

Re: Proper voices as a stretch goal

Mumbles are a stylistic choice, not a inability to "come out of the dark ages". They want it like this, so let them.

Maybe for a different game in the future, like a Conker-like game? It just seems strange to want to put every idea into this one game when there's so much more to come! :D

Re: Backstory for each characters

I hope Laylee has a HUGE family! Like you're in the mandatory castle/graveyard/spooky level, and suddenly BATS everywhere and they just tackle the pair adorably and Yooka's just being all cool and chill "Haha!" about it, and Laylee is just "You guys are so embarrassing, we're on an AD...

Re: Why Playtonic can't do amiibos

I certainly wouldn't mind having existing amiibos give you a few small things in the game. But I agree that maybe making Yooka-Laylee amiibos is a little too outside the scope, and the liklihood of Nintendo even bothering to discuss amiibos of characters that AREN'T Nintendo Exclusive? Don't think i...

Re: Yooka Laylee Appreciation Thread

I really love that Laylee is a bat. I'm kinda tired of Bats being enemies/antagonists, it's very refreshing to me that she exists! You made this bat fan incredibly happy! I also love how her feet just kinda dangle behind Yooka's head, that's so cute. I love that Yooka HAS MOVES! It always both...

Re: Is Laylee a fruitivore, or an insectivore?

That's fair. I brought it up mostly because others have been bringing up her teeth or her nose to try to pin down the kind of bat she is, so... I dunno, just adding my two cents. n_n;

Fruit would certainly be a more appealing health system, and bugs for health indication reminds me of Spyro. Hm.

Re: Is Laylee a fruitivore, or an insectivore?

I'm reading up on bat species, and I found this about Vampire Bats The body of the Vampire Bat allows it to walk as well as to run. They aren’t just animals that fly around like others. The fact that they have strong legs makes it possible for them to take part in such efforts. The fact that Laylee ...
