Re: Exclusive games on consoles

The console manufacturer obviously gets an exclusive title, which is attractive for obvious reasons. The developer could get a variety of perks, depending on who they are and how promising their game is. For instance, they'd get on the console company's good side, which could be helpful in the futu...

Re: Exclusive games on consoles

Who's to say they can't do their own stuff? That's just an assumption. Maybe they can, maybe they can't. Regardless, Retro is a first party, in-house studio, and the situation isn't the same as it was with Rare, let alone what it might be with Playtonic if they'd strike a deal with Nintendo. Yeah i...

Re: Exclusive games on consoles

The Binding of Isaac thing is indeed ridiculous, but it's not related to Nintendo's current strategies when it comes to creative input on games they publish (it's not even a matter of the game featuring religious themes, but more about the way they are portrayed). It's essentially a remnant of cert...

Re: Exclusive games on consoles

in the case of Nintendo specifically, they don't treat their development partners or studios the way they did fifteen years ago I'm not completely in touch, all I know are anecdotes so yeah my argument is weak. But seeing for instance as Binding of Isaac can't be released on Nintendo platforms beca...

Re: Exclusive games on consoles

I don't demand this game be exclusive to my platform of choice, and would like to see as many people as possible enjoy it, so I agree with you there, but in the case of Nintendo specifically, they don't treat their development partners or studios the way they did fifteen years ago, so making it soun...

Re: JonTron in Project Ukelele

I'm part of those who'd like a pure experience without the stain of cameos or fans. I mean, the devs probably have an artistic vision of the game, and they should put no constraints on that vision. That's why I'm bothered by people like JonTron voicing characters. The reason he's offered to voice i...

Re: Voice acting?

For the record, I agree that everyone should get the exact same game and experience regardless of their bank balance. But Kickstarter is all about enticing people with rewards to donate as much as they can. If you don't donate a lot, you can't meet the rewards. That's just how Kickstarter works. Su...

Re: Voice acting?

I don't think the Kickstarter pledges will be in direct proportion to the creative ability or good judgement of the people behind them, and I'm not a fan of seeing people have more influence than others because of the amount of money they have to spend, so I'm kind of opposed to that as well. But I ...

Re: Voice acting?

I hope it's BK voices, and I hope they don't just let fans do them. Agreed. Chris Sutherland could do all the voices and I think I'd be happy with that. Don't care much for the guest stars ideas to be honest. I'm on the same boat. The issue I have with letting fans do the voices is that it won't ne...

Re: Voice acting?

Gibberish.Only ever Gibberish. Maybe one character talks normally and its an in-game joke or something. But everyone else gets gibberish. I like it! Like in Mel Brooks's Silent Movie where the only spoken line was delivered by famous mime artist Marcel Marceau. You might be onto something... would ...

Re: Nintendo Fans, Lets Show Them Our Nostalgia! WiiU/3DS+Am

EDIT: Actually, don't sign me up. I do want the game on Wii U, but I'm not sure I want to support this in case it starts some sort of clash between fans of the various consoles. We should all be in this together, I think.

Seriously though, I'm with Krockhead and Taylor. Characters should have them, but not random objects around the environments. Unless those objects are characters.

Re: What you want to see

As long as the game hits the Wii U and feels like a true spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie I think I'll be good.

Well, if they would add a sequence of the development team performing a barbershop rendition of A-ha's Take on Me dressed entirely in mashed potatoes I'd take that as well.

Gah! Don't give them any ideas, Krockhead! These British developer types are very impressionable. Like cockatoos or small children.

Chris Pratt. I like the man, but I mean, he's in friggin' everything these days.

Can't think of anything that I don't want, but might potentially make it into the game at this point. I'm just interested in seeing what Playtonic's got planned, really.

It will come out exactly when I tell it to. Which is yesterday. You're all welcome.
