So I pulled up the game again, this time just using the mapped keys without an external program to make the buttons map to keyboard or whatever, and I realized 1. The control setup for Gamecube controller I ended up with was actually pretty good, though I still don't know what the Camera Mode key is...

People have mentioned the lack of pushing animation; I'd like to bring up the section with the camera angles. I quite liked how cheats were something you could actually earn, although in that way they're less of cheats and more of just codes. And sometimes you didn't need to earn them if you didn't want to. Turn off achievements when using cheats, but have an achievement for using a cheat ("acheatment&...

Oh, yes, and for a true Gruntilda's Lair equivalent, clearly while traversing the hub the main villain has to occasionally make remarks like Grunty did in BK.

Gruntilda's Lair was a great hub; I think where Isle o' Hags didn't quite live up to it is every area is built around a corresponding level. Cliff Top might be the only exception. Grunty's Lair had a lot more rooms that, while they may give the feeling of a certain level, aren't built around it. It ...

Code chamber! Code chamber!! Specifically, I liked how BK and BT made you earn your cheat codes. Sort of. Unless you knew how to put them in ahead of time? Or the others? But yeah, cheat codes being integrated as part of the game world was neat.
