Re: Visual clarity for rolling uphill

On the other hand, I remember an incline that was much greater than a blue one that I was able to simply walk on. I would like to believe that slopes would naturally appear to be far too slanted or have a certain type of surface if you can only traverse them with the Reptile Roll.

Re: Let's Talk Swimming

I don't mind the current style, but it definitely needs to be more responsive. It feels a bit delayed when moving up or down. A small tap of A or X/Left Trigger should not make such a large movement either, I like a little more control similar to how small taps of the jump button give lower jumps wh...

Re: Capital B

It looks like his body could be a robotic body-suit, much like what Grunty got in Nuts N Bolts. This would explain the lack of wings, stinger, and additional limbs. I can easily picture what he would really look like without the suit just by remembering past bee designs in Rare games.

Yo, this isn't funny. The morning of the day that they posted about this hostile takeover, I found a bee and a small hive in my car's door after I got off work. The takeover is real.

Re: Splatoon references

Yooka-Laylee doesn't really need to reference any other game. If they happen to come up with some humorous or relevant dialogue that happens to have a reference to something else, then so be it. I would rather not have anything feel forced. Let's just let Playtonic make the jokes and references, the...

Re: Movement Animations

I noticed and became concerned about it the moment I saw the first gameplay footage. However, I am not going to worry too much about it until we get footage of a new build and we still do not see the varying movement animations. Given their history, I expect that there will be varying animations and...

Re: Possibly new character?

Definitely just Yooka and Laylee. In fact, that is all that I can see. I do not know where anyone else is seeing anything thing else. With the angle, the slight glare, and them possibly being mid-animation, it probably makes them look like something else. However, you can clearly see that Yooka and ...

Re: Just a thought, invoked by one of the comments on the kickstarter page (nostalgia)

Well, I am sure many are being carried along by nostalgia. You cannot really deny that possibility. However, I long for a game where I can freely run and jump around as a character in third-person, use a variety of attacks/skills to defeat enemies, and complete challenges with minimal restrictions. ...

I would say leave using actual voices for another game. It is not like this will be the only series that they have.

Re: What kind of local 4-Player ya hoping for?

I would most prefer a multiplayer that utilizes the core mechanics of the game, so I voted for a DK64 style arena. Conker's Mission-Based Arenas would be my second choice, and Tooie Mini-games would be third. Not either of them would be bad or unappreciated, I just like the core gameplay over anythi...

Re: Have people forgotten Playtonic are not idiots?

It sure seems like people have forgotten that. I trust Playtonic's decisions and I am willing to let them settle in a bit before outright forbidding anything. And I have been thinking from the start that Playtonic should not listen too much to the players, because the reason we all support them is b...

Re: Found an edited image of the character design, really improves a lot IMO

I don't know if I am biased, too attached, or already used to the original designs, but the edits don't really appeal to me. The change to Yooka's mouth may affect his expressions a bit too much. He also looks a little too arrogant/brash/confident, or maybe even a bit sly or mischievous. Not sure if...

Re: Yooka needs some clothes

The only reason that I would want clothes on Yooka now is because of the introduction of transformations. A pumpkin is a pumpkin, but a pumpkin in yellow shorts with a blue backpack is Banjo. As it is now, I do not know what will serve as an identity for Yooka when he gets transformed. Maybe he will...
