Re: Toybox feedback & discussion thread (SPOILERS)

I've meaning to pop in over here and post Toybox feedback, and I guess this is the place to do it! I've played through the Toybox+ a few times, found everything, etc. Before I give any kind of constructive criticism/talk about things I wished were different, I want to say that I loved this demo, and...

Re: [Stretch Goals] Update: 1.2Million Stretch Goal funded!

I don't think physical console releases can happen if they don't have a publisher, so unfortunately, I wouldn't hold your breath for that for now ): Also...I don't know how to feel about this orchestrated soundtrack stretch goal! Like it's exciting that there gets to be more time and effort put into...

Re: Unlockable Accessories?

The only character that could be clothed is Laylee (yes, the Bat). And as said, there's not much room to do that. Why only Laylee? Because Yooka may well have a camouflage ability. It'd be kind of weird to be able to change the color of your clothes as if they were your skin. I expand on that theor...

Re: Yooka-Laylee!

+1 logo without the eyes I love the eyes on the sign though! It's just... weird in the logo. Yeah...I'm all about the googly eye aesthetic, but I think it's distracting in the context of the logo. Less is more. I LOVE the bat-wing Y though! And I like the green and purple (both on the logo and with...

Re: Yooka-Laylee!

I'm very pleased with their names and designs! Laylee is pretty adorable. But, not to be a huge bummer, I was kind of hoping/expecting it to be a female/male duo again... Me too ): The playtonic website doesn't say anything about the character genders either way, so maybe the IGN thing was just a m...

Yeah! This is honestly my one big concern. Sometimes the loudest opinions aren't the best opinions

Graphic designer by day, freelance illustrator by night!

Honestly, the old Rare games formed/influenced my visual tastes so much.

Re: Nintendo should REALLY think about locking this project

This is some tricky stuff. :( Of course Playtonic as 2nd party to Nintendo sounds alluring, partly because the games seem like they will fit in with Nintendo's general style and partly because everyone wants that 90's partnership magic back. But it's not the 90's anymore, and it's probably best for ...

Re: Who is this character?

I thought it kinda looked like one of those small dinosaurs with the neck webbing, but the stuff at Rezzed about how knowing what kind of animal it is would spoil gameplay mechanics makes me think chameleon.

Re: What platform(s) do you want to see Project Ukulele on?

Going by what I have, I gotta say (in order of preference) WiiU and mac. As for the handhelds...I love handheld gaming a lot, but would it make sense for this at all? I can't help but feel like those versions would be a lot worse and also waste time from the main version. There's also the concern th...

Re: Nintendo Fans, Lets Show Them Our Nostalgia! WiiU/3DS+Am

I suuuuuuuper want this game for WiiU, but I don't think an inferior 3DS port is necessary. Maybe Playtonic can design something for the 3DS in the future, but I don't think it makes a lot of sense for this.

Re: Things that you DO NOT want in this game.

This is kind of a hard question because I have so much faith in the development of this game. Most of it seems like no-brainer stuff, like I don't want microtransactions and I don't want it to veer too hard into other genres (lookin' at you, Nuts & Bolts). I don't want to see minigames that rely...

Re: About Amiibos

I noticed that Platonic Games thinks that it would be cool to add amiibos to Project Ukulele. It would be cool, but i don't really like the idea. If I understand amiibos correctly, then they are some figures that can unlock excusive items in a game. I don't know if i am the only one, but isn't that...

I personally prefer the voice mumble, but it would be interesting if they had both ways as an option. Maybe full voice acting could work as a stretch goal?

*ahem* now that that's out of the way...
WiiU version for sure! Soundtracks would be good, physical soundtracks would be really good. A physical game for WiiU would be incredible. Figures and/or amiibo could be cool.

Re: Should Project Ukulele have vehicles?

Ah geez, look at this touchy subject. I don't hate Nuts & Bolts by any means, I thought it was okay and interesting, I was just really disappointed because I was hoping for a more traditional 3d platformer (I also still think Banjo looks weird with a boxy snout, but maybe that's just me). I thin...

Re: Please bring Ukulele to the Wii U!

I think this game would be an excellent fit for WiiU. I'd like to see it on WiiU more than other platforms (mostly because I don't have a ps4/xbone/a good computer). As a figure collector, I think amiibo functionality would be cool. I wouldn't want to see a bunch of game content locked behind amiibo...
