Re: Regarding Forum Font

Definitely agree, OP! Please make the forums more readable! Even comic sans is more readable (but an even better font than that still would be nicer.) :D

Solid Lizard

In every promotional image we've seen so far, the main characters are always almost completely hidden. It's safe to assume one of them is a lizard - possibly a chameleon with camouflage abilities? And the recent tweets show Playtonic looking to hire someone who can do stealth.. does this mean Solid ...

Re: How should you enter worlds?

Funny thing about Gruntilda's Lair, it kind of reminds me of a theme park. When you're at the entrance to, say, Treasure Trove Cove it looks almost like a 'stage set' until you actually enter the level and it all comes to life, same for every other level.

I'm trying to learn both Unreal and Unity at the same time. I don't recommend it.

Re: Nintendo should REALLY think about locking this project

If Nintendo truly believes that great software drives hardware (PS2 and PS4's early successes are arguably based on THE PROMISE of good software), then they should finance this project/studio, and ensure a physical release and Nintendo ownership of the IP. No thanks. What purpose does it serve from...

What draws you to 3D platfromers?

What is it about games like Banjo Kazooie that you can't get from other genres?

If you strip away all the flashy visuals, music, aesthetics etc, do they still hold up? What makes you enjoy playing them?

Re: 3D Platformer(s) You Have Played Before

I wanted to try Psychonauts. I've been debating buying myself a used PS2 for a while. I love Playstations but I never buy them since they're typically very expensive when new, and by the time they're old, I have more new Nintendo stuff to occupy my time. Just get the PC version and plug in a contro...

Re: What are you playing now and what do you think about it?

Super Mario 64. It's fun and it still holds up.. mostly. I am trying to get all 120 stars but some are proving rather difficult. I really enjoy the amount of depth in the jumping and platforming mechanics, but the camera is just plain bad by today's standards. As for any current video games, I occas...

Re: JonTron in Project Ukelele

Did that poison the craftsmanship behind Star Trek as a whole? More like poisson , am I right? But seriously, I'm glad Jon's had the miracle opportunity to contribute something of his own back to what made up a seemingly large part of his childhood, and I think he did pretty okay voicework fo...

Re: Invulnerability? Is it still relevant?

I agree with everyone here. In this day and age with infinite continues and checkpoints every two minutes, invulnerability items have kinda lost their purpose. They might be useful in combat-heavy areas and no-death runs, other than that.. who knows? We know nothing of how the game will design failu...

Re: Things that you DO NOT want in this game.

Using Banjo-Kazooie as a point of reference, that game is pretty much flawless but the only criticism I have looking back is the hub of Grunty's castle having a too confusing layout. Running around the hub for 30 minutes trying to find the next level wouldn't be something I want to look forward to i...
