Re: Things that you DO NOT want in this game.

I would NOT like DLCs. Not just because I don't like DLCs in general, but mostly because Yooka-Laylee just does NOT need it. The game needs to be complese from the release.

I know there is a topic for that, but it is already too long, couldn't read.

Re: Languages

I just had the idea that they could allow for fan localization. They could localize professionally the languages with most demand, and let fans do the rest in some sort of mod. I know Gone Home did that and it seems to be working well. If they do that I will totally do a French Canadian "Québé...

Re: DLC discussion

Kickstarters that insist on expanding their original idea just because people keep throwing money at them often have trouble organizing the money and you end up with a train-wreak of a development. The devs said that the extra money would go towards the stretch goals and polishing the game, not add...

Re: Languages

But I think it'd be important to give players the option to play in the language they want. As much as having translations is fantastic so people who don't speak English can enjoy the game and its humor, many people still prefer to play the game in its original language. Heck, I'd still play Yooka-...

Re: Languages

Yeah, I heard that nintendo even stopped supporting you guys... That sucks. True that. Actually, Nintendo never really supported Brazil. All she does once in a while is to hire a sucker brazilian representative that does absolutely nothing but to raise the prices even more: Latamel, Gradiente, Play...

POLL: Language Translation

(Moderator comment: Poll added 06/01/2017.) So, the stretch goal for translation (french, spanish, german and italian) is reached. In the kickstarter page, there is a mention to 'plus extra languages voted for by backers'... Why not portuguese as well? =P See, I'm brazilian (so please don't notice ...

Re: Proper voices as a stretch goal

- less time spent on listening to dialog Untrue. 2 minutes of 'yar yar yar' and 2 minutes of 'My name is Fulano, I am the...' are 2 minutes whatsoever. Or 6 seconds of yar yar yar vs 2 minutes of 'My name is Fulano, I am the...' But this comparison makes no sense at all. The difference between 6 se...

Re: Proper voices as a stretch goal

OK, that convinced me. I drop the idea of voice acting for YL (which doesn't mean it can't exist in future Playtonic games) if there is a risk it may delay the launch date. Even so, I think the topic is still valid, also because of the next PT games: can anyone please tell me what advantage mumblin...

Re: Proper voices as a stretch goal

If you take our stretch goal to add an orchestral score – that doesn’t add risk to the project. Any more that we add will just be giving specific features to the fans, we don’t want to make our lives worse by adding stuff that may well mean we miss our release date . We’re going to try to do the op...

Re: Proper voices as a stretch goal

Just remembering that 'voice acting' doesn't mean 'realistic human voices'. Again, Conker had voice acting and the voices (os accents, if you prefer) were completely mumble-like. THAT would be awesome in YL. Again, I'm not asking for the Conker kind of humor or whatever, just real voices in the dial...

Voice acting

So, I was reading the Kickstarter page (and almost doing triple mortals with delightment and expectation) and then: A huge cast of memorable characters to meet (or beat) brought to life by the art and audio teams behind Banjo-Kazooie and destined to endure in future games as part of Playtonic Univer...
